  • Patent number: 4150002
Abstract: Polyamides and polyesteramides having melt viscosities from 25 to 600 Pa.s at 220.degree. C. and useful as melt adhesives for textiles are disclosed, which materials are condensation products formed between (a) a dimerized fatty acid component containing at least 70 percent of dimeric acid; (b) a C.sub.6 -C.sub.13 aliphatic straight-chain co-dicarboxylic acid; (c) a C.sub.6 -C.sub.12 aliphatic straight-chain diprimary diamine; and (d) caprolactam and/or .epsilon.-amincaproic acid; the polyesteramides additionally contain a further component (e) which is caprolactone and/or .epsilon.-hydroxycaproic acid.

  • Patent number: 4059549
Abstract: A sealing and coating compound hardening in the presence of moisture and comprising a mixture ofA. an addition product formed between an excess of a di- or poly-isocyanate having aliphatic or cycloaliphatic isocyanate groups and a polyester polyol or a linear or branched polyalkylene oxide having terminal hydroxy groups, andB. a di- or poly-functional enamine which is prepared by reacting an aliphatic aldehyde or cyclic ketone and a polyaminoamide which is the condensation product formed between an excess of a secondary diamine and at least one acid selected from the group consisting of di- and poly-carboxylic acids having 6 to 72 carbon atoms.

  • Patent number: 4045389
Abstract: A polyamide melt adhesive having a melt viscosity, measured at 220.degree. C., of 25-600 Pas and adaptable for the adhesion of textiles, said polyamide comprisingA. 1. dimerized fatty acid having a content of 70-100 percent by weight of dimeric fatty acid, and optionally comprising2. a monocarboxylic acid as a molecular-weight regulator (chain stopper), whereby up to 50 equivalent percent of the total carboxy groups of the mixture (a) (1) and (2) can be derived from the monocarboxylic acid; and comprisingB. one or more aliphatic straight chain co-dicarboxylic acids having 6-13 carbon atoms, wherein the ratio of carboxylic acids according to (a) (1) and (2) to carboxylic acid according to (b) is from 0.05:1 to 5:1, calculated on the carboxy groups; and further comprising in an amount approximately equivalent to the acids mentioned under (a) and (b) aboveC. an aliphatic straight chain diprimary diamine having 6-12 carbon atoms, andD. caprolactam and/or .epsilon.-aminocaproic acid, wherein from 0.5 to 1.

  • Patent number: 3941753
Abstract: Prepolymers having enamine or ketimine groups therein are prepared by reacting a polyisocyanate with a mono-enamine or mono-ketimine having an hydroxy group. The prepolymers may be used as mixtures with further isocyanate, which mixtures harden in the presence of water or atmospheric moisture and are useful as lacquers, casting and patching resins, and for coatings and laminates.
