  • Patent number: 6004194
Abstract: In a hand-held electrical grinder with a tool holder (22) driven by a rotating eccentric plug (20) which, for receiving a grinding tool has a quick-action locking device (24) with locking elements (40, 41) fixed on the tool and tool holder sides and corresponding with each other, the locking elements (40) on the tool side are formed, on the one hand, by hooks (42) disposed on a circular line and, on the other hand, the locking elements (41) on the holder side are realized by means of a spring wire (43), which is bent in the shape of a ring, in order to transmit a greater output from the tool holder (22) to the (10). The spring wire (43) has a number of radially inward directed indentations (431) corresponding to the number of the hooks (42) on the tool side, which extend behind the hooks (42) on the tool side for locking the grinding tool (10) in.

  • Patent number: 5855504
Abstract: In a hand-held orbital sander with a housing (12) and with a sanding tool (10) received in a tool holder (22), which is seated by means of a pivot bearing (21) on a rotating eccentric journal (20) protruding from the housing (12), an oscillating device (23), having an inner ring (26), an outer ring (27) and a formed part (28) made of elastic material connecting the two with each other is provided as a security against relative rotation, wherein the inner ring (26) is fastened on the tool holder (22) coaxially with the pivot bearing (21), and the outer ring (27) is maintained, fixed against relative totation, in the housing (12). The oscillating device (23) provides a symmetrical force distribution and makes it possible to set the torque of the tool holder (22) with the sanding tool (10) as needed in respect to the hardness or thickness of the elastic formed part (28) (FIG. 1).

  • Patent number: 5383275
Abstract: A hand planer comprises a housing, a planer head supported in the housing, a motor driving the planer head, a fan blower connected with the motor for generating a flow of air for moving chips, a chip ejector, two air guidance ducts through which the flow of air is guided from the fan blower to the chip ejector, a chip conveying duct having a chip discharge opening such that planed chips exit the chip conveying duct through the chip discharge opening, the chip ejector accommodating both the chips and the flow of air, and guides for guiding the flow of air in a switchable manner to the chip conveying duct via one of the two air guidance ducts. Therefore the problem of ejecting the chips in a preselected direction with extreme precision and high efficiency is met.
