  • Publication number: 20090282970
Abstract: A vehicle protected against the effect of an external explosion and having a vehicle housing disposed on a chassis. The vehicle housing has at least one entry/exit door in at least one side wall, the door being disposed in a door opening of the side wall and being hinged to a front edge of the door opening as viewed in a forward direction of travel and in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. An inwardly projecting reinforcing rib is disposed on an inner side of the side wall parallel to and in the immediate vicinity of a rear edge of the door opening. A driver's seat is disposed in the vehicle housing in the area of the door opening and has a seat panel and a backrest. The rear edge of the door opening extends essentially parallel to an upright direction of the backrest, and in all positions of the driver's seat the reinforcing rib extends immediately next to or behind the backrest.

  • Patent number: 7464963
Abstract: A military motor vehicle for transporting personnel, comprising a chassis on which are successively disposed a driver's cabin and an upwardly open transport structure that can be covered by a tarpaulin and has seats and/or benches. A roll protection device is disposed on the upper side of the transport structure and comprises two roll bars, each of which is disposed over a side wall of the transport structure and extends in the longitudinal direction and over the entire length thereof. Each end of each roll bar is releasably attached to the transport structure. The roll bars are interconnected by reinforcing elements that extend transverse to the longitudinal direction.

  • Publication number: 20040183322
Abstract: An armored tank is provided and has a weapons station disposed on the roof of a vehicle housing that is carried by a tracked drive. The interior of the housing is divided into three regions, namely a front region, in which are disposed the drive mechanism and the driver's seat, a rear region in which are disposed seats for the crew, and a middle region that is usable for various purposes depending upon the layout of the tank, especially for accommodating a turret platform and/or at least one seat for operators of the weapons station and/or storage space for munitions and munitions delivery mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 6527072
Abstract: The invention relates to a tracked vehicle (10) comprising tracks (38) which are driven, a drive unit (28, 28) for each driven track (38), containing a drive wheel (52) which engages in said track (38), an electric motor (18, 20), a drive train (30, 32) which is connected before the drive wheel (52), and a shaft (34, 36) which driveably interconnects the electric motor (18, 20) and the drive train (30, 32). The inventive tracked vehicle also comprises a vehicle pan (12) which supports each drive unit (26, 28) on a wall (40, 42). The invention is characterized in that vibration damping means (44) are interconnected between the wall (40, 42) and the drive unit (26, 28) so that the drive unit (26, 28) is vibrationally isolated from the wall (40, 42) of the vehicle pan (12).

  • Patent number: 5697463
Abstract: A track-laying vehicle has a frame with a pair of opposite sides, a track suspension on each side of the frame, and respective vibration-damping support bodies fixed on the suspensions and on the frame and securing the suspensions to the frame. Each suspension has a support housing movable relative to the side, road wheels journaled on the housing, a drive wheel journaled on the housing, and a track spanned over the respective wheels. In accordance with this invention a brace strut extending crosswise across the frame between the sides thereof has outer ends connected to the respective suspension housings. The strut can extend underneath the frame so that the forces caused by upward pressure of the ground on the ground wheels that tend to push out the bottoms of the suspension housings cancel each other out. The strut can also extend horizontally between the frames ahead of the front wall and another such strut can extend horizontally between the frames behind the back wall.

  • Patent number: 4842346
Abstract: A chain link of a chain track is penetrated at its joints to adjacent chain links by bolts, for example connector bolts or hinge bolts. The chain links are connected in a positive and frictional manner. The chain link may be made of elastomeric material in which flexible, high tensile filaments are embedded. The filaments may be wound back and forth between the two joining locations and loop around the cross-sectional surfaces of the bolts (connector bolts or hinge bolts) located at the joining locations, in alternating directions. A chain track assembled from individual chain link elements may have individual chain link elements including a shear field support of one or more layers of readily bending steel foil, surrounded on both sides by elastomeric material. The layer or layers of steel foils are clamped at the two joint locations of adjacent chain link elements between a transverse web and a clamping bar, with the chain links connected to one another by threaded fasteners.

  • Patent number: 4171027
Abstract: A mounting assembly for the terminal drive of the track of a tracked vehicle, especially a tank or like military vehicle, comprises a final-drive assembly which is received in an opening of the hull of the vehicle with all-around clearance and means bridging the housing of this drive assembly and the hull for elastically supporting the drive assembly with limited freedom of movement thereof transverse to its axis.
