  • Publication number: 20030006555
Abstract: A method of playing a pai gow poker game in which, in addition to the usual seven cards dealt to each player and the dealer, a single player tiebreaker card is dealt for all players and a single dealer tiebreaker card is dealt to the dealer. The ante bet of each player is then paid off for winning and losing hands in the usual manner of a pai gow game. However, with push hands (where only one of the two-card hand and five-card hand of the player has a higher poker rank than the respective two-card hand and five-card hand of the dealer), the winner is determined by the higher value of the player and dealer tiebreaker cards so that no push bets occur.

  • Patent number: 6070875
Abstract: A method of playing a blackjack-type wagering game where the playing cards have ranks and suits. Initially, the dealer deals a hand to each player making an ante bet and the banker. This dealing step includes the step of hitting each player and the banker as desired thereby. Next, it is determined whether each player has a winning hand, a losing hand or a push hand. For each push hand, it is then determined whether a poker value of that push hand is greater than or less that of the banker's. Finally, the ante bet of each respective player is paid to (a) each respective player if each respective player has a total hand value considered a winner over a total hand value of the banker or for a push hand if the poker value is greater than the banker's, or (b) the banker if each respective player has a total hand value considered a loser over a total hand value of the banker or for a push hand if the banker's poker value is greater than the player's.

  • Patent number: 5863041
Abstract: A method of playing a pai gow poker wagering game in which an ante bet is initially wagered and a bonus bet is also wagered by at least one player. Seven cards are then dealt to each player and the dealer, and arranged into a two-card hand and a five-card hand. The ante bet of each player is then paid off to in the usual manner for pai gow poker. Thereafter, a best poker hand is arranged by the dealer for each player from the seven cards initially dealt to the player, and the bonus bet is paid off if the best poker hand has a poker rank equal to or better than a first predetermined rank (straight) but less than a second predetermined rank (royal flush).

  • Patent number: 5799945
Abstract: A method of playing a poker-type wagering game whereby, in each round of play, a plurality of outcomes for each respective player to wager against a dealer are available or offered. These outcomes are: (a) that the player has a two card hand of the same suit; (b) that the player has a two card hand which ranks higher than a dealer's two card hand; and (c) that the player has a poker hand with a poker value of greater than a predetermined value, the poker hand being comprised of two card hand of the respective player, the two card hand of the dealer, and a common card. After making an ante bet by each respective player against the dealer for a selected one, or preferably at least two, of the plurality of outcomes, the dealer deals two cards to each respective player and himself and a single card which is designated as the common card. In turn, the dealer then first determines whether each betting player has a respective hand of two cards of the same suit and pays off winning hands.

  • Patent number: 5607162
Abstract: A method of playing a matching wagering game is provided between players and a dealer whose outcome is determined by randomly generated playing cards. After an ante bet is wagered, the dealer deals five cards to each player and deals seven cards to himself. A round of play is then commenced where the dealer plays a card from his hand to present the rank and suit thereof. Next, each player plays a "matching" card from his respective hand which is either the same suit or the same rank. In this manner, each player reduces the number of cards in his hand where a matching card is played during the round. The conducting of a round step is then repeated until each card in the hand of the dealer has been played. Seven rounds are thus played each game, so that ultimately there are no cards left in the hand of the dealer. The ante bet of each respective player is consequently paid off (a) to each player if each player has no card remaining, or (b) to the dealer if each player has one or more cards remaining.

  • Patent number: 5593161
Abstract: A method of playing a banking wagering game such as black jack includes the initial step of wagering a plurality of equal value first bets by each player against a banker/dealer. The number of first bets corresponds to a predetermined number of rounds of the wagering game constituting a set, such as three. Each respective first bet is a wager that the player will have a hand during the respective round which will win over a hand of the banker/dealer. As the first bets are made, each player also wagers a second bet of the same value as the first bets that each one of the first bets of the respective player during the set will be winning wagers. The predetermined number of rounds are then played to complete the set and determine the outcome of all bets. This playing step includes, after each round, the step of determining whether the respective first bet of each respective player is a winning or losing wager and the paying off or collecting of the first bet by the banker/dealer.

  • Patent number: 5505457
Abstract: A method of playing a wagering game is provided where an outcome is determined by a random value symbol generator actuatable by a player. The method of play simulates the game of bowling. First and second predetermined range of values are selected by a house, and a round of the game is played by the player beginning with the wagering of a wager that a first generation of the value symbol will be within the first predetermined range of values or that a second generation of the value symbol when added to the first generated value symbol will be within the second predetermined range of values. The player then activates the random value symbol generator to produce a first value symbol, and then activates the random value symbol generator to produce a second value symbol where the first value symbol is not within the first predetermined range of values. Where the second value symbol is generated, the value of the first value symbol and the second value symbol are added together to generate a sum.

  • Patent number: 5282633
Abstract: A method for playing a wagering or bidding game whose outcome is determined by randomly received symbols is provided. Initially, symbols such as cards having a numerical value of one, two, or three as well as a designation as one of two suits are supplied. In addition, there are also no value cards having no suit. A plurality of players are each dealt a hand using the cards or other symbols and then players in turn make increasing bids on a suit total until the bid of a last player is called by the next player to bid. This suit total is the total of added numerical values of the cards of the selected suit in the hands of all of the players. The no value cards are also preferably used and bids can also be made on the number of these cards in the hands of the players. Alternately, the symbols are displayed on a video display screen as part of an electronic game device.

  • Patent number: 5265877
Abstract: A method of playing a wagering game whose outcome is determined by a selection of winning symbols from a group of usual randomly generated symbols to fill a predetermined number of spots includes at least one additional symbol. The player initially selects a set of player winning symbols and then wagers that a predetermined number of the set of player winning symbols will match those selected. A predetermined number of winning symbols to fill the spots are then randomly selected, including usual winning symbols selected from the group of the usual symbols and, potentially, the additional symbol possibly selected by use of a selection scheme. Thereafter, the wager is settled at one of: a) a first payoff if the additional symbol is not selected and a predetermined number of the set of player winning symbols match the selected usual winning symbols; and b) a second payoff if an additional symbol is selected and a predetermined number of the set of player winning symbols match the selected usual winning symbols.

  • Patent number: 5257784
Abstract: A method and apparatus for playing a wagering game include a usual play of the game whose outcome is determined by a selection of usual randomly generated symbols. Added to the usual symbols is at least one and preferably a plurality of additional, preferably no-value, symbols. The wagering game is then played by wagering on the usual play of the game and additionally by wagering on a chance occurrence of one and preferably at least two of the additional symbols being selected during the usual play. The wages on the chance occurrence are settled according to the outcome of the chance occurrence, and the usual wagers are similarly settled depending on the outcome of the usual play of the game. In one preferred embodiment, the wagering game is a usual card game so that the usual chance generated symbols are a deck of value playing cards. The additional symbols are then at least two no value playing cards which are added to the deck.

  • Patent number: 5141234
Abstract: A method for playing a wagering game whose outcome is determined by randomly received symbols is provided. Initially, symbols such as cards having a numerical value of one, two, or three as well as a designation as one of two suits are supplied. A wager by at least one player is then made on the attaining of a net total of a hand of received symbols. The net total of a hand is equal to a gross total of added numerical values of the symbols of one suit less a gross total of added numerical values of the symbols of the other suit. Where there are at least two players, the net total of each hand dealt is determined and the net totals of the hands are compared to determine which net total is closest to a predetermined winning total of seven without exceeding the winning total. In addition, there are also no value cards having no suit which are dealt. The play can include the presenting to each player of an optional hit card after the first three cards are received.
