  • Patent number: 5045073
Abstract: A digital applicator for topically applied medicaments includes a dactyl cot formed of a tubular casing having a closed distal end. A conical dispenser formed of an absorbent material such as sponge is attached to the distal end. The casing wall is sufficiently thin and flexible so as not to significantly inhibit tactile sensitivity. Absorbed in the dispenser is a quantity of medicament with force exerted by the tip of a dactyl serving to compress the dispenser, thereby extruding a desired dosage of medicament on an affected area. The casing may be coiled in a toroid and sealed in a packet prior to use and the dispenser may be charged with medicament prior to packaging. Alternately, the user may absorb a desired quantity of medicament in the dispenser and then proceed with applying the medicament.

  • Patent number: 4934534
Abstract: A soft container for dental appliances includes a shell having a top and a bottom panel interconnected by a hinge panel. All of the shell panels are formed of a single piece of water repellent fabric. A lip extends along the periphery of the top and bottom panels and the case is opened and closed with a slide fastener which selectively joins the opposed lips. A replaceable liner is formed of a unitary slab of compressible foam which is folded into leaves adjacent the hinge panel. Between the two leaves of the liner, one or more dental appliances such as denture or orthodontic plates are placed and the shell is then closed with the slide fastener.

  • Patent number: 4326548
Abstract: A dental tool for personal oral hygiene includes a pen barrel shaped holder which carries a curved metal pick. The pick includes an arcuate zone ending at a tapered tip. A cap selectively covers the pick when the tool is not in use to simulate a writing implement. Opposite the tip, the pick includes a stem which is seated in the holder. The pick is formed of a stainless resilient metal alloy having a diameter in the order of one millimeter. The arcuate zone is employed to dislodge food or debris from pockets or interproximal spaces at both the mesial and distal areas of the oral cavity with the tip functioning as a probe. The convex surface of the arcuate zone is employed as a burnishing implement for the removal of soft plaque.
