  • Publication number: 20070255433
Abstract: A digital multimedia source device automatically discovers the type of sink device it is sending data to, and based on sink device type automatically selects which audio format to send with the video. For example, lower bit rate audio such as stereo PCM can be sent from a source device such as a DVD player when the DVD player senses that the sink device is a TV with relatively lower audio playback capabilities, while higher bit rate audio such as surround-sound AC3 or super audio CD-DSD can be sent to sink devices such as home theater receivers that have relatively higher audio playback capabilities.

  • Publication number: 20070200824
Abstract: A wireless foldable mouse can be unfolded into a thin configuration for mechanical engagement with a computer, and folded into a thick configuration for wireless mouse input to the computer. Also, the mouse while distanced from the computer can be unfolded to reveal remote control buttons so that the mouse can be used to, e.g., control a slide show.

  • Publication number: 20060294357
Abstract: The primary operating system of a computer such as a notebook computer is stored on disk in a hard disk drive and a smaller, secondary operating system such as an email operating system, wireless phone operating system, DVD player operating system, etc. is stored on disk and is transferred to flash memory within the HDD upon power-down of the primary operating system. In this way, should the user subsequently elect to power up the computer only for a limited secondary purpose, the user can elect to boot the associated secondary operating system from flash memory of the HDD without having to spin up the disks, saving energy and reducing boot time.
