  • Patent number: 6660366
Abstract: An interlocking fastening and packing material is disclosed. The material may be utilized for fastening of a plurality of objects together and/or for protecting one or more object(s) disposed therein, particularly during storage, handling and/or shipping. The material comprises corrugations which include alternating concave and convex portions shaped such that each concave portion is receivable and interlockable with a convex portion therein. The corrugations may be elongate or may comprise a matrix of bulbous nodules. The material may further comprise a backing material having two opposing surfaces wherein corrugations are attached to at least one of the two surfaces. A single piece of the interlocking material may be used by overlapping and interlocking one portion of the material with another portion thereof. • Patent number: 5915556
Abstract: The present invention relates to a shock absorbing component for packaging an article and for protecting the article during shipping. The component is foldable (preferably from a single sheet) for enclosing the article therein. The component comprises a first section for receiving a first surface of the article and a second section for receiving a second surface of the article. The first section having multiple nonlinear cuts or serrations such that upon placing the article between the first and second sections, the cuts allow the first section to deform and at least partially conform to the shape of the first surface of the article. The component may be disposed within and integrally formed with a shipping container having exterior protective walls. The component may further comprise spacer panels to separate the component from the exterior walls of the shipping container. Although the disclosed shipping container may have open ends, it desirably has ends completing the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 5901852
Abstract: An integrated packaging for protecting an object is disclosed. The packaging is foldable preferably from a single sheet to form a container having a plurality of side walls. The packaging also comprises two suspension platforms at opposing open ends of the container, each with at least one foldable spacer at an edge thereof. The spacers spaces each platform from a corresponding end of the container by a predetermined distance. The object is held within a flexible member which is suspended between the suspension platforms.
