Surprisingly, the one or more properties are achieved by using a modified dual cross-pad, folded, compressed tampon pledget design.

Abstract: A disposable article includes a chassis having first and second end portions and a central portion extending therebetween. The article also has a first pair of side panels extending on each side of the first end portion of the chassis. The first and second side panels are folded over the chassis, to form a folded side panel configuration prior to use of the article. The first side panel is arranged at least partly on top of the second side panel to form an overlap area in the folded side panel configuration. The second side panel is bonded to the chassis by a first breakable bond in the folded side panel configuration. The first side panel is attached to the second side panel by a second breakable bond in the overlap area. The first breakable bond has a weaker peel strength than the second breakable bond.

The one or more insertion indicators may be located on the tampon applicator barrel, plunger, tampon, removal string, or any combinations thereof. As a result of the one or more insertion indicators, a woman can adjust the insertion depth of the tampon to her body's requirements ensuring leakage protection, comfort, or both.

Abstract: The present invention provides a tampon applicator assembly having an applicator barrel with an insertion tip with a maximum of three petals. Additionally, the tampon applicator assembly can be provided with a tapered insertion tip. A shaped pledget can be housed in the applicator barrel, which provides support to the petals.
