The system (300) includes the steps of: sending (302) a RF signal having unique serial data from a transmitter; receiving (304) RF signal in a receiver and converting the RF signal to a digital signal; transmitting (306) the digital signal with the unique serial data from the receiver to a microcontroller; providing (308) an editable microcontroller memory including a look up table accessible by an external programming device; verifying (310) whether the unique serial data from the transmitting step matches data populated in the look up table; and performing or refraining from performing (312) a command requested by the transmitter, based on the data in the look up table.
