  • Patent number: 11257364
Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and systems disclosed herein that improve the safety and enhance the quality of interactions between law enforcement officers and drivers. In one example embodiment, a method is provided in which, during a traffic stop, a first device associated with an officer's vehicle obtains information about a driver's vehicle, queries a database for network address information associated with a driver device associated with the driver's vehicle, and receives the network address information from the database. The first device may then transmit a connection request to the second device using the received network address information; and a connection may be established between the two devices.

  • Publication number: 20200353933
Abstract: Methods, computing entities, systems, and computer program products for monitoring alertness of an operator of a vehicle are provided. In an example embodiment, a mobile computing entity receives biometric data and behavior data for the operator. The biometric data and behavior data captured by at least one of a wearable sensor, a visual sensor, or a vehicle sensor onboard the vehicle. The mobile computing entity determines an alertness level of the operator based at least in part on the biometric data and the behavior data using a model that is personalized for the operator. Responsive to determining that the alertness level of the operator satisfies a first treatment level threshold, the mobile computing entity initiates an operator engagement interaction to increase the alertness level of the operator.

  • Patent number: 6258323
Abstract: The apparatus and method of the present invention provides for conducting simultaneous multiple synthesis of general compounds, which often takes place under varied uneven conditions requiring heating, cooling, agitation, reagent/solvent additions to the reactor contents at each reaction vessel location, supply and maintenance of inert atmosphere and means to facilitate the reflux of the reactor contents. Thus, it becomes necessary to monitor and control the reaction conditions during the simultaneous multiple synthesis of general compounds. The apparatus allows the user to connect various independently controlling and conveying means to each reaction vessel through multiple ports provided on a stopper mounted on each reaction vessel. The apparatus of the present invention permits user to readily access the reaction vessels without interrupting the reactions occurring in the adjacent reaction vessels.

  • Patent number: 4852921
Abstract: A door security device is formed as a plurality of bars wherein a first bar is telescopingly received within a second bar. The extended length of the telescoping bars are of a span greater than that of an associated door frame. A bifurcated door knob latching bracket is orthogonally adjustable relative to the aligned axis of the aforenoted bars for positioning of the bracket in an overlying relationship to a door knob secured to a door fitted within the aforenoted framework. A pair of spaced resilient pad means are secured to each terminal end of the telescoping bars in contact with the door frame to accordingly prevent unauthorized opening of the door when the instant invention is secured relative thereto.
