Abstract: A mobile implement for mulching which provides complete control of the mulching process and uniformly distributes the mulch back upon the lawn. Grass and leaves are cut using a standard cutting blade. The mass of cut vegetation is then lifted upward into a hammermill by the trailing edge of the rotating cutting blade. The air stream generated by the rotating hammers of the hammermill forces the vegetation against a shear screen. Repeated blows by the hammers chop the vegetation to a controlled size and force it through the screen. A portion of the chopped mulch falls back upon the ground in the area of the trailing quadrant of the implement's path. The remainder of the mulch is forced into the discharge duct and blown uniformly out onto the lawn through the discharge opening of the mower housing. This same system of hardware may be incorporated into either a hand push or a power driven rotary mower as well as a gang unit, mounted on or pulled by a tractor.

Abstract: A bag having front and back walls and a bendable metal reclosure therefor having a total length greater than the width of the bag bent at two points spaced a distance corresponding to the bag width to have two tab portions at the ends of an intermediate portion, the latter being secured to one of the walls adjacent an end of the bag extending across that wall generally from one side edge of the wall to the other, the tab portions being bent back on the outside of the intermediate portion, and a cover strip overlying the reclosure.

Abstract: A method of providing net bags with wicketing flaps at their mouth ends. A series of net bags are fed forward in a path with the bags extending transversely of the path and spaced longitudinally with their mouth ends aligned. As the bags are fed forward, a tape is secured to one wall of the mouth ends of the bags, extending from bag-to-bag and projecting beyond the mouth edge of the bag wall to a free edge spaced outwardly of the mouth edge of the bags. The tape is severed between the bags to provide a flap, the flap being adapted to receive a wicket for holding a plurality of the bags in stacked assembly.

Abstract: A net bag having strips of film secured to opposite walls thereof at its mouth, one strip constituting a wicketing flap, the other enabling automatic opening of the bag, a stack of such bags held together in the stack by a wicket having its legs extending through the wicketing flaps of the bags, and a method of making the bags.

Abstract: A method of and apparatus for wrapping palletized loads, utilizing an open-mouth bag of a stretchable plastic film as the wrapper, involving opening the bag and stretching it, bringing the bottom of the bag into engagement with the top of the palletized load, and moving the bag downward to evert it over the load with accompanying shrinking of the bag on the load.
