  • Patent number: 9381125
Abstract: The present invention provides a patient support that can be configured in an expanded configuration, for example to accommodate larger patients, and then reconfigured to a more compact configuration to ease maneuverability of the patient support through constricted passageways in a facility and/or to provide a low height patient support. Further, the present invention provides a barrier around the patient support surface which includes a panel that allows a patient to see through the barrier and which is optionally adaptable to change its transparency and/or color.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 4, 2013
Date of Patent: July 5, 2016
    Assignee: Stryker Corporation
Inventors: Cory P. Herbst, Martin W. Stryker, James T. Thwaites, Richard A. Derenne, Christopher S. Hough, Eugene Keller

  • Publication number: 20100011803
Abstract: Heating, ventilating, air conditioning or refrigeration (HVAC&R) systems and associated outdoor horizontal discharge units are provided. The units include a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger includes a plurality of manifolds. The heat exchanger also includes a plurality of multichannel tubes in fluid communication with the manifolds. Each multichannel tube includes a plurality of parallel flow paths through which an internal fluid flows. Each flow path extends lengthwise through its respective multichannel tube. The heat exchanger further includes a plurality of fins disposed between the multichannel tubes for transferring heat between the external air and the internal fluid flowing through the flow paths. The units also include a fan configured to blow air horizontally through the heat exchanger such that the air discharges the unit horizontally through at least one side of the unit.

  • Publication number: 20060031990
Abstract: A patient support apparatus having a base, a litter frame, an elevation mechanism interconnecting the base to the litter frame and being configured to effect changes in elevation of the litter frame relative to the base. The litter frame includes a pair of laterally spaced and longitudinally extending support rails and a plurality of laterally extending support rails interconnecting the longitudinally extending support rails so that the litter frame has a rectangular configuration. Selected ones of the laterally extending support rails are mounted to the elevation mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6824126
Abstract: The invention is generally directed to an evaporative humidifier having a water distribution system capable of quietly maintaining a continuously saturated wicking element through the use of a pump and water distribution troughs that allow water to be continuously flushed onto the tops of the wicking elements such that greater humidification of the air is achieved and the life of the wicking elements are extended.

Date of Patent: November 30, 2004
Assignee: Vornado Air Circulation Systems, Inc.
