  • Patent number: 5733518
Abstract: The invention comprises a process for selectively oxidizing hydrogen in a mixture with other gaseous materials by contacting the hydrogen containing gas under oxidation conditions with a catalyst comprising a phosphate of a metal wherein the metal is selected from the group consisting of germanium, tin, lead, arsenic, antimony and bismuth.

  • Patent number: 5439859
Abstract: Alkanes are dehydrogenated by passage through alternating dehydrogenation zones and selective oxidation zone(s), in which latter zone(s) hydrogen produced in the preceding endothermic dehydrogenation reaction is selectively oxidized to generate heat for the succeeding dehydrogenation reaction. New catalyst compositions are prepared comprising reduced and sulfided nickel crystallites on siliceous supports which have been treated with chromium compounds and oxidized to provide surface-anchored chromyl species. Also new catalyst compositions are prepared by sulfiding nickel-containing compositions with carbonaceous sulfur compounds such as dialkylsulfoxides. Another embodiment of the invention is catalyst and dehydrogenation therewith, in which pores having radius of 50 to 200 Angstroms occupy pore volume from 0.30 to 1.50 ml per gram of the support, and pores having radius of 20 to 50 Angstroms occupy pore volume less than 0.1 ml per gram of the support.

  • Patent number: 4444938
Abstract: Phenyltetralylbutane (PTB) is used to plasticize polyvinylchloride (PVC) resins. The PTB in one embodiment is prepared by refluxing tetralin an flowing condensed vapors of the tetralin over a bed of strongly acidic catalyst, which may for example be a synthetic acid "Y" type zeolite. In one embodiment, the PTB is used as a secondary plasticizer, with a primary plasticizer such as di(2-ethyl)hexyl phthalate.

  • Patent number: 4066975
Abstract: In a wide-band electronic AC amplifier, the first stage is direct coupled to a split load phase inverter which is RC coupled to a push-pull power output stage and the output is obtained through transformer coupling with a portion being returned to the cathode of the input stage as negative feedback. Instability (e.g., generation of high frequency "parasitics") is prevented by reduction of the effective impedance of the phase splitter, as seen by the control grids of the output tubes, by greatly lowering the resistance thereof. Since the triode is DC coupled to the pentode, the values of the load resistor and the screen dropping resistor in the pentode section must be reduced in order to increase the high frequency response and keep the current flow in the triode section within the maximum safe limits of the tube design.
