  • Publication number: 20120038758
Abstract: A system for producing a three dimensional (3D) effect from displayed images is provided. Images of a video program are displayed in a complementary primary colors-encoded stereoscopic image format, which includes stereoscopic images of objects or a scene. Corresponding stereoscopic images are displayed in different colors. As the display refreshes, the display alternates the colors of the corresponding stereoscopic images and sends a control signal to active glasses worn by a viewer of the video program that causes a left-eye lens and right-eye lens filter to alternate the color which is filtered in by the respective filter. The viewer is able to view the video program with a perceived 3D effect without either of the lenses of the active glasses having to become opaque during display of the complementary primary colors-encoded stereoscopic image.

  • Patent number: 7463281
Abstract: A method includes selecting a video source view from at least one of a plurality of vehicle-mounted video sources based on detection of a vehicle event. The video source view may be displayed according to a presentation mode. The method may include associating a plurality of vehicle events with a video source view or video presentation mode. A system includes display logic selecting a video source view from a plurality of vehicle-mounted video sources based on detection of a vehicle event. The system can include presentation rules specifying an association between a plurality of vehicle events and a video source view and/or a video presentation mode. The presentation rules are editable and configurable.

  • Publication number: 20060161270
Abstract: A central controller (FIG. 1B, FIG. 2, FIG. 4) is disclosed to enable home and commercial automation for automatic, remote control of a wide variety of lights, appliances, HVAC (FIG. 3, FIG. 5) and other systems utilizing a wireless distributed network. The central controller preferably employs a standard CPU and embedded operating system software. Graphical (FIG. 2) and audio (FIG. 4) user interfaces can be implemented. Harmonic distortion due to non-linear AC loads (FIG. 8) are mitigated in single-phase circuits through intelligent control of the loads (FIG. 9) and/or through intelligent complementary control of linear loads (FIG. 10).

  • Publication number: 20060061486
Abstract: A traffic alert system in which a user may specify an alert profile that includes one or more routes of interest. The system monitors traffic problems for problems that might impact roads along the specified routes of interest. Alerts reporting such problems are sent to the user. Additional filter characteristics might be specified by the user as part of the alert profile to further restrict the number of alerts sent to each user. As a result, each user receives a relatively small number of alerts which are of high value to the user.

  • Publication number: 20050131595
Abstract: A method includes generating an explanation of a vehicle condition based on a vehicle diagnostics code. The explanation may include a textual, graphical, audio, or other user-friendly explanation of the vehicle diagnostics code. Supplemental information related to the vehicle diagnostics code may also be generated. A vehicle includes a vehicle-based computer for generating an explanation of a vehicle condition corresponding to a vehicle diagnostics code. The vehicle-based computer may communicate the explanation over a network.
