The user profile may include information such as, but not limited to, information identifying media items in the user's media collection, biographical information describing the user, demographic information describing the user, media recommendations received by the user, or any combination thereof. Based on the user profile and service profiles of a number of subscription media services, a service recommendation function generates a service recommendation for the user.
