  • Publication number: 20220379106
Abstract: A device to reduce left ventricle afterload in a target blood vessel in a mammal includes a cushion configured for positioning within a lumen of the target blood vessel and receipt of a fluid and configured to contract during systole and expand during diastole, a reservoir having a cavity for receiving the fluid, and a conduit extending between and fluidically coupling the cushion and the reservoir, whereby during use fluid in the cushion is transferred to the reservoir during systole and returned to the cushion during diastole. The cushion has an annular cross section defining a central lumen for blood flow and is configured for positioning in the lumen of the target vessel abutting an inner wall of the target vessel, whereby during use blood flow is directed through the central lumen of the cushion.

  • Patent number: 10912405
Abstract: The examination glove donning machine is a mechanical device. The examination glove donning machine is configured for use with one or more hands of a patient. The examination glove donning machine comprises a housing, an elastomeric sheeting, a vacuum pump, and a laser cutting device. The housing contains the elastomeric sheeting, the vacuum pump, and the laser cutting device. The elastomeric sheeting forms a barrier around a hand of the patient. The vacuum pump creates a vacuum that draws the elastomeric sheeting around the hand of the patient. The laser cutting device cuts the elastomeric sheeting as it is drawn against the hand of the patient such that the examination glove is formed while on the hand of the patient. The examination glove donning machine simultaneously dons an examination glove on up to two hands of a patient.

  • Publication number: 20140245630
Abstract: An apparatus for drying clothes or other solids that includes a rotating drum with microwave generator inside and rotating piping connections for energy recovery via drum jacket while sealing microwaves and pressure (vacuum), and selectable controls that provide conventional heating at a preset drum outlet moisture content, or not, depending upon the potential for metal in the load, to avoid arcing.

  • Patent number: 7023525
Abstract: An imaging apparatus according to one embodiment of the invention includes a programmable patterning structure configured to pattern a projection beam of radiation according to a desired pattern. The programmable patterning structure includes a plurality of separate patterning sub-elements, each sub-element being configured to generate a patterned sub-beam. At least one of the separate patterning sub-elements is configured to generate a patterned sub-beam whose cross-section contains regions of different intensities. The imaging apparatus also includes a combining structure configured to combine the plurality of patterned sub-beams into a single patterned image, and a projection system configured to project the patterned image onto a target portion of a substrate.
