  • Patent number: 8379208
Abstract: The present invention includes systems and methods for quantitative and qualitative imaging of gases, vapors, fumes, and the like. In one embodiment, the system uses a moving, or a rotating filter for alternately capturing on-line and off-line images of a scene that potentially includes the target gas of interest. The moving, or rotating filter includes at least two filter segments for transmitting (a) wavelengths corresponding to a spectroscopic absorption feature for on-line elements of the target gas, and (b) nearby wavelengths not corresponding to a spectroscopic absorption feature for off-line elements of the target gas. An image processor executes an algorithm for transforming the collected on-line and off-line data, corresponding to different pixels in the imaging array, into an image map of path-integrated concentration, or concentration path lengths (CPLs). The systems and methods of the invention do not use active light sources to illuminate the target gas.

  • Patent number: 7620203
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for analyzing an imaging system or an image produced by the imaging system are disclosed. The imaging system is configured to sense a target on a background and the target, background, and imaging system are associated with spatial information and spectral information. The imaging system or image is analyzed by, first, determining two of a spatial confidence level associated with the spatial information, a spectral confidence level associated with the spectral information, and a total confidence level associated with sensing the target on the background. A non-determined one of the spatial confidence level, the spectral confidence level, and the total confidence level is then calculated responsive to the determined confidence levels for use in analyzing the imaging system or image.

  • Publication number: 20070135563
Abstract: Disclosed are adhesives and processes for preparing the same, comprising at least one first homogeneous ethylene/?-olefin interpolymer, and optionally at least one tackifier, and optionally at least one plasticizer. The claimed adhesives are useful as adhesives such as are employed in various applications, such as in masking tape, clear office tape, labels, decals, bandages, decorative and protective sheets (such as shelf and drawer liners), floor tiles, sanitary napkin/incontinence device placement strips, sun control films, the joining of gaskets to automobile windows, packaging, bookbinding, construction of nonwoven articles, and insulation bonding.

  • Publication number: 20060173434
Abstract: An absorbent article such as a panty liner that includes a liquid pervious top sheet, a first interior component, a liquid impervious back sheet having an exterior surface and an interior surface, a hot melt superabsorbent polymer composition disposed between the top sheet and the interior surface of the back sheet, the panty liner having a thickness no greater than 1 millimeter and exhibiting at least one of a 0.9% saline wet back no greater than 30% and a synthetic blood wet back of no greater than 40%.

  • Publication number: 20050096428
Abstract: A thermoplastic composition that includes from about 1% by weight to 25% by weight block copolymer having the formula (A-B)x or A-B-A, where the A block includes polyvinylarene, the B block includes poly(monoalkenyl) and x is an integer of at least one, spherical superabsorbent particles comprising polyacrylate, and plasticizing oil, the composition exhibiting water gel time of no greater than 2 minutes, a viscosity of no greater than 100,000 centipoise and a wet tensile strength of at least 15 g/in2.

  • Patent number: 6237103
Abstract: A data processing system includes a power control circuit, a processor, a power supply, and a plurality of other components. Upon system reset, the power control circuit can generate at least one sequencing signal indicating a first sequence in which power is to be supplied to the plurality of components. Similarly, power sequencing code executed by the processor upon system reset can selectively generate at least one sequencing signal indicating a second sequence in which power is to be supplied to the plurality of components. The power supply, which can receive both the sequencing signal generated by the power control circuit and the sequencing signal generated by the power sequencing code, supplies power to the plurality of components in the second sequence if the power supply receives the sequencing signal generated by the power sequencing code. In one embodiment, the plurality of components require a plurality of different power supply voltages.
