  • Publication number: 20030111372
Abstract: A case conveniently stores light and moisture barrier protected product such as photographic film. The product container of the case has affixed thereto a recloseable lid having a latching member that engages and disengages from a corresponding latching member affixed or formed on the product container. A finger release associated with the lid disengages the two latches for opening the lid and accessing the interior compartment of the product container.

  • Publication number: 20030111376
Abstract: A package for storing and displaying product has a display member with partially overlapping paperboard front and rear layers, a reusable product container attachable to the display panel and a plastic shell for securing the reusable product container to the panel. Flange portions on the plastic shell are snugly wedged or trapped between the partially overlapping layers of paperboard material of the display panel. Latching members formed on the reusable product container and lid and a release latch enable easy opening and closing of the reusable product container for accessing and securing product therein.

  • Patent number: 5572272
Abstract: A film cassette comprises a light-shielding door for preventing ambient light from entering the cassette interior, a film spool supported for rotation in film unwinding and film winding directions, and a locking device supported for movement into engagement with the spool to secure the spool and out of engagement with the spool to release the spool. According to the invention, the door is supported for closing movement to prevent ambient light from entering the cassette interior and for opening movement, and includes cam means for moving the locking device into engagement with the spool responsive to closing movement of the door. Also, the locking device is resilient to permit it to be temporarily deformed should it be obstructed from being moved by the cam means to engage the spool and the light-shielding means is forcibly closed, or should it be engaging the spool and the spool is forcibly rotated in the film unwinding and winding directions.

  • Patent number: 5262811
Abstract: A photographic film cassette comprising a housing with a hinged lid thrusts film therefrom during the film threading process. The cassette comprises a rotatable film spool concentrically positioned in a housing, within and adjacent to a rotatable, outwardly convex panel member having end plates with camming structure thereon. Corresponding cam followers are located on the interior of the lid, and when the panel member is rotated by a drive spindle accessible to the member through an opening in an end of the housing, the member rotates, camming the lid onto an open position. Film engaged to the member's outer surface by a detent projecting from the surface through a perforation in the film is thrust out of the cassette into engagement with the camera's film transport mechanism. During rewinding, a drive spindle accessible to the spool through the housing's end opening rewinds the film until the perforation is sensed by camera sensing means.

  • Patent number: 5251839
Abstract: In a film cartridge, a shell-like enclosure and a lid are latchingly engaged when the lid is closed, to hold the lid closed, and are latchingly engaged when the lid is opened part way to allow film movement in and out of the enclosure, to prevent the lid from being opened farther. The enclosure and the lid can be disengaged to permit the lid to be opened farther or to be closed.

  • Patent number: 5232175
Abstract: In a film cartridge, a spool hub has a coaxial cavity in one end portion. A cartridge housing for the spool hub has a hole in one end wall that is aligned with the cavity to permit access to the cavity through the hole. A hermetic plug is sized to fit tightly in the hole to act as an airtight seal for the hole, but is sufficiently compliant to permit it to be forcibly pushed intact from the hole into the cavity to provide a visible indication that the film cartridge has been used.

  • Patent number: 5078698
Abstract: A hypodermic syringe holder adapted to receive a disposable carpule and eject it in an axial direction includes a pair of pivotable jaws disposed on pivots on opposite sides of the body of the holder and a sleeve element for opening and closing the jaws slidably disposed around the body of the holder. In the downward position, the sleeve element closes the jaws around the carpule and in the upward position, the sleeve opens the jaws, permitting the carpule to be safely and consistently ejected form the holder in an axial direction.

  • Patent number: 4811839
Abstract: A film belt package which facilitates loading on support rollers while maintaining the belt protected within the package until loaded on the support rollers. This film belt loader package supports the film belt under tension and in a configuration which substantially replicates its configuration when located on such support rollers. The belt, on its tension support, is enclosed by a member which is adapted to engage such film belt for urging such film belt off of the tension support in order to load such belt on support rollers.

  • Patent number: 4789129
Abstract: A rapidly adjustable mold for thermoforming plastic sheet material into different-sized containers is disclosed. The mold comprises a bottom wall and four orthogonally oriented, readily moveable sidewalls, which together define a mold cavity that is rapidly adjustable to produce rectangular containers of various sizes and aspect ratios. The first sidewall extends from a bottom wall corner and alongside a first bottom wall edge; and is vertically moveable but horizontally stationary. The second sidewall extends from the same corner but alongside a second bottom wall edge perpendicular to the first; and is both vertically moveable and horizontally moveable along the second edge. The third sidewall extends perpendicularly from an end of the second sidewall and parallel with the first sidewall over the bottom wall; and is vertically stationary but horizontally moveable in directions parallel with both edges.
