  • Patent number: 9482659
Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and systems for the automated imaging and evaluation of human embryos, oocytes, or pluripotent cells are described. An apparatus and method for automated dish detection and well occupancy determination are described. In addition, a multi-well culture dish and an illumination assembly for bimodal imaging are described. These inventions find use at least in identifying or in facilitating identification of embryos and oocytes in vitro that are most useful in treating infertility in humans.

  • Patent number: 6684812
Abstract: An animal feeder support device for maintaining a feed container on a substantially vertically extending support member a distance above the ground. The animal feeder support device comprises a stabilizing member, a container support frame, an arm, a first cable, a second cable, and an adjustable strap assembly. The stabilizing member is disposable in a substantially vertical position on the substantially vertically extending support member. The container support frame has an opening sized to receive a feed dispenser of the feed container when the feed container is positioned on the container support frame. The arm has a medial portion connected to the stabilizing member. The first and second cables are adjustably connected to the container support frame. The adjustable strap assembly is connectable to the arm near the medial portion of the arm so that the strap assembly is extendable about the vertically extending support member.

  • Patent number: 6030145
Abstract: An articulated underwater cable riser system includes at least one articulated anchor section having a plurality of modular anchor segments and an articulated mid-span buoy having a plurality of modular buoy segments. The anchor segments and buoy segments encircle the cable and are secured adjacent one another in appropriate positions along the cable by cable clamps. The buoy segments and anchor segments are interfaced to the cable clamps by fairings which present smooth outlines for the anchor sections and mid-span buoy between the segments and the clamps to facilitate handling the anchor sections and mid-span buoy using conventional cable laying equipment. The anchor segments and buoy segments can be one-piece or, preferably, assembled by securing segment halves to one another. Bend limiters are coupled to at least some of the anchor segments to prevent an articulated anchor section from exceeding the minimum bend radius for the cable.
