  • Publication number: 20240099294
Abstract: A hunter-operated and hunter-controllable wing decoy that includes a wing shaped and sized to mimic a bird's wing and a mechanical control cable having an outer conduit and an inner core that is moveable within the outer conduit, with an actuator connectable to the wing and connected to an actuator end of the control cable, the actuator and control cable configured to move the wing in relation to the actuator in response a hunter manipulating the control cable to mimic a motion of a bird's wing. The manually operated wing decoy may be used with a number of static, non-controlled decoys, and is designed to disassemble into a collapsed secured unit for easy carrying by the hunter.

  • Patent number: 11172672
Abstract: A portable hunting blind having a plurality of foldable flat semi-rigid or rigid panels adapted to be arranged in an upright orientation to enclose an interior space sized and adapted to for concealing a hunter on all sides within the interior space, the unfolded panels having a top edge formed to include troughs of varying depths and shapes to provide improved camouflage and support for resting the barrel of a gun. The unfolded panels are connected in a side-by-side manner that permits folding the panels in an accordion-like fashion, and shaped so as to create a downward angle of the exterior side surfaces of the blind so that reflective material comprising the exterior surfaces reflect more of the ground radially outward from the panels than features above the ground.

  • Publication number: 20200222736
Abstract: A fog-cloud generating nozzle is disclosed. In one embodiment, a nozzle head having a fluid passageway is threadable coupled to a nozzle base. The nozzle base, which provides a threadable coupling to a water source, is disposed in fluid communication with the fluid passageway. An inner sleeve is rotationally disposed within the fluid passageway with bearing surfaces against the nozzle head and the nozzle base. Multiple discharge ports of the nozzle head and multiple discharge orifices of the inner sleeve cooperate to generate a fog-cloud having a magnified forward thrust component and enabled directional control.

  • Patent number: 10711482
Abstract: A portable hunting blind having semi-rigid side material that is adapted to be supported in an upright orientation by a plurality of rod supports, sized and adapted to be positionable for concealing a hunter on all sides within an interior space, and having a top edge formed to include troughs of varying depths and shapes to provide improved camouflage and support for resting the barrel of a gun. The blind is very lightweight and is easily and rapidly deployable by unrolling the side material, orienting the sides into a closed shape, and pushing one or more of the rod supports downward to anchor the blind. An optional cover may be included for rain protection.

  • Patent number: 8308082
Abstract: A fog or mist generating nozzle assembly produces a swirling fog pattern having a forward thrust component that permits an operator, stationed safely at a remote location relative to a fire source, to exercise directional control and positioning of a relatively large mist cloud on or about the fire source. The discharge nozzle includes a cylindrical bearing member and a cylindrical rotor member with multiple water discharge orifices that extend at a forward projection angle ? relative to the nozzle axis. A pair of fog producing nozzles are configured with counter-rotating rotors, producing counter-rotating clouds that merge along a common vortex. This generates a composite mist cloud having a magnified forward thrust component, enabling remote directional control of the mist cloud.

  • Patent number: 4697740
Abstract: A mist generating nozzle has a cylindrical bearing member in which a plurality of distribution slots are formed. A cylindrical sleeve member is concentrically disposed about the bearing member, with an annular chamber defined therebetween. The sleeve member has a plurality of orifices communicating with the annular chamber and which extend transversely with respect to the radius of the sleeve member for imparting rotational motion to the sleeve member in response to the discharge of water through the orifices. The centrifugal force acting on the water discharged through the orifices particulates the water droplets into a fine mist or fog, in a substantially spiral pattern around the nozzle. In another aspect of the invention, the mist generating nozzle is incorporated into a firefighting tool, which includes a piercing member for penetrating a building structure.
