  • Patent number: 5467874
Abstract: A storage apparatus for tool sockets includes an elongated rack having affixed thereto a plurality of attachment mechanisms each provided with a guide channel and upstanding central cam element. A mounting member connected to each attachment mechanism includes a stub adapted to accommodate the square bore of a tool socket, with a transverse bore in the stub having a normally freely movable ball therein. Arcuate movement of the mounting member atop its attachment mechanism is limited by a tab on the mounting member disposed within the attachment mechanism guide channel. In an at rest condition, the tab is biased upwardly by a spring intermediate the attachment mechanism and mounting member.

  • Patent number: 4615377
Abstract: An improved method of and apparatus for striping hot steel slabs on the runout table of a continuous caster employs a torch support and drive mechanism adapted to support a scarfing torch for movement at a uniform rate across the surface of a slab maintained in a stationary position on the runout table. A radiation thermometer supported for movement with the torch is focused to continuously monitor the striping operation by detecting flashes or temperature increases resulting from reduction of alumina inclusions during the striping process and transmitting an electrical signal to a microprocessor which converts the signal to electrical impulses that are counted, recorded or otherwise utilized to evaluate the slab being striped. The microprocessor controls operation of the apparatus during the striping process to provide a more reliable evaluation of the slab.

  • Patent number: 3930520
Abstract: A control valve controls fluid to and from a motor or the like from a rotary shaft and it includes a pair of stationary valve members facing each other and having facing annular channels therein. The annular channel of one of said stationary valve members communicates with a motor passage leading to the motor. The annular channel of the other stationary valve member communicates with a source passage leading to the fluid source and with a vent passage leading to atmosphere. A pair of plugs secured in this latter annular channel provides an arcuate source channel and an arcuate vent channel. A rotatable valve disc driven by the rotary shaft and arranged between the stationary valve members has a port therethrough which alternately communicates the annular motor channel in said one stationary valve member with the arcuate source channel and the arcuate vent channel in the other stationary valve member for controlling the fluid to and from the motor or the like.
