  • Publication number: 20240310072
Abstract: A dual inlet assembly configured to provide a mix of ventilation airflow and conditioned airflow to a space inside a building. The dual inlet assembly comprises a first duct having a first diameter and a first terminal end. The first duct is configured to provide the ventilation airflow. The dual inlet assembly further comprises a second duct having a second diameter and a second terminal end. The second duct is configured to provide the conditioned airflow. The first terminal end of the first duct extends beyond the second terminal end of the second duct; the first diameter of the first duct is smaller than the second diameter of the second duct; and a portion of the first duct extends into and within a portion of the second duct.

  • Patent number: 12018856
Abstract: Dual inlet air diffuser for a heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. The dual inlet air diffuser mixes two or more separate and/or distinct air streams into a homogenous or nearly homogenous mixture of air. The two or more separate air streams may have different temperatures and/or different humidity levels, and/or may be from different sources, such as having one air stream comprising ventilation air that includes filtered air from an outside, ambient air source and a second conditioned air stream from a heating, air conditioning, or other air treatment unit.

  • Publication number: 20230133780
Abstract: An apparatus for reducing sound levels in an HVAC system, the apparatus including a housing configured to be positioned within an air inlet vent for an HVAC system. The housing includes a first opening configured to intake air and a second opening configured to out put air and a plurality of baffles positioned within said housing, each baffle including a body defining a volume and has a plurality of perforations, wherein each baffle is affixed to the housing and wherein the plurality of perforations are configured to allow airflow through the volume of the body and redirecting sound waves.

  • Patent number: 6021252
Abstract: An arrangement is disclosed for controlling fan motors in fan-powered terminal units which permit the air flow of the terminal units to be factory preset and reset using a voltmeter. The fan motor is responsive to the pulse width of pulses of a pulse width modulated signal to provide an air flow which is proportional to the pulse width. By adjusting the pulse width, the air flow may be set as desired. A pulse width modulated signal having pulses with a set amplitude and frequency is generated. The dc voltage of the pulse width modulated signal is measured using a voltmeter. As the pulses have a set amplitude and frequency, the pulse width of the pulses may be adjusted by controlling the dc voltage of the pulse width modulated signal. The fan motor is programmed to deliver the set air flow over a range of static pressures.
