Abstract: The present embodiments relate to a steering control device and method. A steering control device may include a communication device configured to receive a steering angle sensing signal from a steering angle sensor installed at a lower part of a rack-pinion gear, a detector configured to detect whether of an inflow of moisture into a steering device based on the steering angle sensing signal and generate moisture detection information if the inflow of moisture is detected, and a controller configured to perform a risk prevention control to prevent risk due to the inflow of moisture based on the moisture detection information.
