  • Publication number: 20070012418
Abstract: A cogeneration system has an advantage that a cogeneration section is divided into a main unit and a sub unit, and an engine and a generator are included in the main unit, to thus enable the main unit and the sub unit to be installed at different locations, so that the main unit can be installed on the ground floor or basement of a building to thus minimize building vibrations or noises generated by a load, and the sub unit can be installed near to an air conditioner to thus minimize the length of a refrigerant passage, thereby reducing the installation cost and the flow passage resistance.

  • Publication number: 20060283967
Abstract: A cogeneration system is disclosed which includes a generator, a drive source for driving the generator, a waste heat supplying heat exchanger for enhancing the heating performance of a heat pump type air conditioner, an auxiliary heating heat exchanger using the waste heat of the drive source as a heat source for heating indoor air, and a regeneration heat supplying heat exchanger using the waste heat of the drive source as a heat source for regenerating a dehumidifier. The cogeneration system can use the waste heat of the drive source for diverse purposes in accordance with the indoor environment, and can have a maximal efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20060123822
Abstract: A cogeneration system including a generator, a drive source operating to drive the generator, and thus, to cause the generator to generate electricity, a heat pump type air conditioner including a compressor, a 4-way valve, an indoor heat exchanger, an expansion device, and an outdoor heat exchanger, a heater to heat air, which has passed around the indoor heat exchanger after completing heat exchange with the indoor heat exchanger, and a waste heat recoverer to recover waste heat of the drive source during a heating operation of the heat pump type air conditioner, and to supply the recovered waste heat to the heater. The waste heat of the drive source can be re-used to heat air passing through the indoor heat exchanger, so that the heating performance of the heat pump type air conditioner is enhanced.

  • Publication number: 20060037354
Abstract: An indoor unit of an air conditioner, includes a blower fan disposed within a casing; and a heat exchanger for heat-exchanging between refrigerant and air flowing by the blower fan, said heat exchanger connected to a refrigerant inlet pipe for introducing refrigerant and a refrigerant outlet pipe for discharging a refrigerant, wherein the refrigerant inlet pipe is connected to a side of the heat exchanger, where a flow velocity of the air passing through the heat exchanger is relatively high. Accordingly, efficiency of heat exchange between the indoor air and refrigerant can be improved, and thus cooling and heating efficiency of the indoor air is improved, thereby improving performance of the air conditioner. Also, by reducing the operation time of the air conditioner, power consumption can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20050241324
Abstract: Provided is a defrosting method for an air conditioner capable of improving an efficiency of a heating mode by supplying the heating mode to a user as long as possible in a condition that a frost deposit is hardly generated. For this purpose, the defrosting method for the air conditioner comprises the steps of; establishing a defrosting initiation temperature of the air conditioner; and performing the defrosting operation based on the established defrosting initiation temperature.

  • Publication number: 20050091998
Abstract: A method for controlling operations of an air-conditioner includes: a step in which when an operation load of an air-conditioner increases, if an outputted compressing capacity of the air-conditioner is smaller than a compressing capacity corresponding to the operation load and an operation frequency of the first compressor is a maximum frequency of the first compressor, a second compressor is operated; and a step in which when the operation load is reduced, if the outputted compressing capacity of the air-conditioner is greater than the compressing capacity corresponding to the operation load and the operation frequency of the first compressor is a minimum frequency of the first compressor, the second compressor is stopped.
