Abstract: A method and system of performing service function chaining is disclosed. The method includes: determining a service function path (SFP) for a packet transmitted to the network device; determining a service function (SF) through which the received packet passes on the SFP; and processing the received packet based on whether a function of the SF is essential or not. Accordingly, the SFs can be categorized into mandatory SFs and optional SFs based on the functions of the SFs or the setting for the SFC and the SFC can be more stably implemented based on the categorization.

A determination may be made as to whether an accessible base station of the second network is located in the vicinity of a user equipment based on information on a current location of the user equipment in the first network. An activation call may be generated with a first telephone number as a caller number when an accessible base station of the second network is located in the vicinity of the user equipment based on the determination result. The activation call indicates an initiation of a search for an accessible base station of the second network, and an accessible base station of the second network may be searched for when the activation call with the first telephone number is received. A handoff from the first network to the second network may then be executed when the accessible base station of the second network is located.

Abstract: Provided are a peer MR authentication method, a multiple peer CoAs registration method, a failover method for multi-homed mobile networks, and a computer readable recording medium thereof. The registering method includes the steps of: a) determining whether a second MR is around a first MR; b) at the first MR, transmitting a peer request message to the second MR; c) at the first MR, requesting a HA of the first MR to authenticate the second MR; d) at the HA, transmitting a peer registering request message to the second MR with a prefix of the first MR that transmit the authentication request message to perform RR authentication; and e) at the HA, notifying the authentication result of the second MR to the first MR when receiving a RR authentication result message including the prefix of the first MR to be registered as a peer from the second MR.

The method includes the steps of: at a second mobile router, detecting a malfunction of a first mobile router using a router notifying interval of the first mobile router when the first mobile router is malfunctioned; at the second mobile router, notifying the prefix of the first mobile router through the ingress Internet interface of the second mobile router; and at the second mobile router, registering prefix binding information of the first mobile router to the home agent through the egress Internet interface of the second mobile router.

Abstract: Provided is a method of optimizing a synchronization signal among home agents in a mobile Internet service system and a computer readable recording medium storing the same. The method includes the steps of: receiving a temporal IP address for a current location and creating terminal active/inactive state information with binding information between the IP address and the temporal IP address; loading the created information into a binding update message, and transmitting the binding update message to one of the multiple home agents; registering new biding information to a binding cache through the home agent that receives the binding update message from the mobile Internet terminal; and determining whether the mobile Internet terminal is in an active state or an inactive state, and synchronizing the registered new binding information with other home agents if the mobile Internet terminal is in the active state.
