Abstract: There is provided a flat electrode for a surface light source, in which a conductive electrode is formed in a fine strip-shaped pattern on a plane. The flat electrode may comprise a base layer, an electrode pattern formed on the base layer, and a protection layer formed on the electrode pattern. There is also provided an ultra thin surface light source device which comprises: a first substrate and a second substrate which are spaced apart from each other at a predetermined interval; and a first surface electrode formed on the first substrate, and a second surface electrode formed on the second substrate. The surface light source device may further comprise a medium layer formed in at least one of spaces between the first substrate and the first surface electrode and between the second substrate and the second surface electrode.

Abstract: A computer system having a main body and fitted with a port to which an peripheral device such as a printer, a camcorder, an MP3 player, a digital camera, a digital TV, etc., is connectable. A monitor outputs a video signal received from the main body to display an operating state of the peripheral device in a window of the monitor. A peripheral device controller provided in the main body detects whether the peripheral device is connected to the port, checks the operating state of the peripheral device if the peripheral device is connected to the port, and outputs information about the state of the peripheral device. The information about the state of the peripheral device is included in the video signal to indicate useful information about the peripheral device to a user of the computer system.

Abstract: Disclosed is a computer system for reducing booting time. The computer system includes a sensor unit detecting whether a main body of the computer system is assembled or disassembled. The sensor unit outputs low and high signals when a bottom case of the main body is assembled and disassembled, respectively, from a top case of the main body. The computer system also includes a memory, a state of which is changed according to the signals output from the sensor unit, and which stores information of assembly and disassembly states of the main body, and a controller for selectively executing a specific program according to the state of the memory when power is supplied to the computer system.
