Patent number: 9508264Abstract: A system and method for management of airspace for unmanned aircraft is disclosed. The system and method comprises administration of the airspace including designation of flyways and zones with reference to features in the region. The system and method comprises administration of aircraft including registration of aircraft and mission. A monitoring system tracks conditions and aircraft traffic in the airspace. Aircraft may be configured to transact with the management system including to obtain rights/priority by license and to operate in the airspace under direction of the system. The system and aircraft may be configured for dynamic transactions (e.g. licensing/routing). The system will set rates for licenses and use/access to the airspace and aircraft will be billed/pay for use/access of the airspace at rates using data from data sources.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2014Date of Patent: November 29, 2016Inventors: Alistair K. Chan, Jesse R. Cheatham, III, William David Duncan, Eun Young Hwang, Roderick A. Hyde, Tony S. Pan, Clarence T. Tegreene, Victoria Y. H. Wood

Publication number: 20160258641Abstract: A system and associated methods of operation for regulating an environmental variable (such as ambient room temperature) within a target zone. The system includes a sensor system configured to monitor the target zone and measure a skin parameter (such as skin temperature and/or sweat) from an inhabitant occupying the target zone. A processor in operative communication with the sensor system receives the measured skin parameter and queries a storage medium to obtain a threshold setpoint relating to measured skin parameter. The processor compares the measured skin parameter to the threshold setpoint and generates an operation mode signal based on the comparison. An environmental control system receives the operation mode signal and determines whether and how to regulate an environmental variable within the target zone based on the signal.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 4, 2015Publication date: September 8, 2016Inventors: Jesse R. Cheatham, III, William David Duncan, Eun Young Hwang, Roderick A. Hyde, Tony S. Pan, Clarence T. Tegreene, Victoria Y.H. Wood

Publication number: 20160258643Abstract: A system and associated methods of operation for regulating an environmental variable (such as ambient room temperature) within a target zone. The system includes a sensor system configured to monitor the target zone, detect one or more inhabitants present within the zone, and identify an alpha person from the one or more inhabitants. Once the alpha person is identified, a measurement sensor measures a skin parameter from the identified alpha person and generates a sensor signal communicating the measured skin parameter to an environmental control system. Upon receiving the sensor signal, the environmental control system regulates an environmental variable within the zone based on the measured skin parameter from the alpha person.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 4, 2015Publication date: September 8, 2016Inventors: Jesse R. Cheatham, III, William David Duncan, Eun Young Hwang, Roderick A. Hyde, Tony S. Pan, Clarence T. Tegreene, Victoria Y.H. Wood

Publication number: 20160258642Abstract: A system and associated methods of operation for regulating an environmental variable (such as ambient room temperature) within a target zone. The system includes an occupancy sensor configured to monitor the target zone and determine a number of inhabitants present within the zone. The occupancy sensor generates an occupancy signal communicating the number of detected inhabitants to an environmental control system. Upon receiving the occupancy signal, the environmental control system regulates an environmental variable within the zone based on the number of inhabitants present in the zone.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 4, 2015Publication date: September 8, 2016Inventors: Jesse R. Cheatham, III, William David Duncan, Eun Young Hwang, Roderick A. Hyde, Tony S. Pan, Clarence T. Tegreene, Victoria Y.H. Wood

Publication number: 20160150192Abstract: A user's vulnerability to ground based imaging may be reported to the user. A positioning subsystem may determine a location of the user. A camera detection subsystem may determine a location of an imaging system able to view the user. A visibility determination subsystem may determine a visibility vulnerability of the user to imaging by the imaging system based on the location of the user and the location of the imaging system. The vulnerability may be determined based on an image quality capturable by the imaging system of the user, such as a spatial resolution. An output subsystem may report the visibility vulnerability to the user. The subsystems may be included in a mobile communication device or a server or may be split among the device and/or server. The output subsystem may deliver the report over a communication network and/or may display a visual representation of the report.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 26, 2014Publication date: May 26, 2016Inventors: Jesse R. Publication number: 20140025442Abstract: A system and method for measuring a performance of an entity and for predicting its future performance is disclosed. Raw information about the entity is collected from internal and external sources. The information is cleaned to exclude false positives. Using performance categories, the information is organized and transformed into meaningful data for the performance analysis engine. The information is normalized by scaling the meaningful data by industry type. A performance score is calculated by the performance analysis engine based on the normalized data. Further, a competitive relationship score is calculated based on the performance score and the normalized data. These scores are reported in a user interface displaying the performance of the entity and are used as inputs, among other factors, to a predictive analysis engine that assesses the future performance of the entities.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 24, 2013Publication date: January 23, 2014Applicant: Quid, Inc.Inventors: Robert B. Goodson, Eun Young Hwang, Kirill Makharinsky, Sean William-Joseph Gourley
