  • Patent number: 12189585
Abstract: Aspects of the invention include techniques for providing a schema evolution on a live database system without an outage. A non-limiting example method includes initiating a schema change on a live database system. The schema change includes an attribute for a database object. A first application package having a user application that is dependent on the database object and that is bound with a release(deallocate) option is identified. Existing threads and new threads executing the first application package are routed to execute the first application package with a release(commit) option and the schema change on the live database system is completed. One or more additional threads concurrently executing one or more additional application packages remain executing with the release(deallocate) option.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 10442173
Abstract: A technique for protecting a portion of a screen panel during a process for disassembling and servicing a display screen device is provided. A first part of the display screen device is separated from a screen panel part of the display screen device, where the screen panel part includes a main screen portion and a circuit of flexible printable circuit board (FPCB) portion. An encapsulant is applied onto a break protectable layer (BPL) of the circuit of flexible printable circuit board (FPCB) portion. The screen panel part is washed, with a solvent to remove residue from the main screen portion.

  • Patent number: 10380104
Abstract: A database system searches for any statements that satisfy one or more of a set of filtering criteria. When a given dynamic query statement fully satisfies the set of filtering criteria, the given statement is stabilized by persistently storing a bound form of the given dynamic query statement. When the given dynamic query statement partly satisfies the set of filtering criteria, a monitoring request is created with the set of filtering criteria to begin monitoring subsequent executions of the statement, and the statement is linked to the monitoring request. When the given dynamic query statement subsequently fully satisfies the set of filtering criteria, the statement is stabilized by persistently storing the bound form of the statement. When the given dynamic query is re-executed, the stabilized statement is loaded, and the PREPARE process is bypassed.

  • Patent number: 10052859
Abstract: An apparatus for disassembling a display screen device. The apparatus comprises: 1) a container configured to receive liquid nitrogen into a liquid nitrogen chamber within the container, wherein at least one portion of the container has at least one vent hole that enables cold nitrogen gas to escape from the container; and 2) a cover configured to be brought into contact with the container to thereby form a nitrogen gas chamber that receives the nitrogen gas escaping from the container. The display screen device is disposed within the nitrogen gas chamber. The nitrogen gas freezes exposed surfaces of the display screen device. An adhesive layer disposed in a cooling area of the display screen device proximate an exposed surface loses it adhesiveness as the cooling area becomes colder. The apparatus further comprises an insulation pad disposed within the nitrogen gas chamber and configured to be brought into contact with a protected surface of the display screen device.
