Patent number: 7495381Abstract: The present invention relates to an electron emission device, and more particularly, to an electron emission device comprising a grid electrode having a thermal expansion coefficient ranging from about 80 to about 120% of the thermal expansion coefficient of the first or second substrate of the electron emission device. The grid electrode is fixed in position by minimizing misalignment caused by a difference in thermal expansion coefficients between the grid electrode and the first and second substrates of the electron emission device. The grid electrode also minimizes generation of arc discharge. However, even when arc discharge is generated, the grid electrode prevents damage to the cathode electrodes and gate electrodes from that arc discharge.
