A utility enables spontaneous creation of a dynamic network defined by: (a) location of members; (b) particular affiliation of members; (c) experience of members; (d) authenticated credentials; and/or (e) other characteristics. The utility enables creation of a network contact profile or imports existing profile information from a particular social networking application to the system. The system allows individuals to create a network that may comprise members identified by various network affiliations, enabling cross platform communication. The system uses a target communication mechanism to enable a user to initiate a communication with a particular individual or a group of individuals.

Abstract: The method, system and computer program product generate online interactive maps linking tracked objects (in a live or pre-recorded video sequence) to multimedia content in real time. Specifically, an object tracking and link generation (OTLG) utility allows a user to access multimedia content by clicking on moving (or still) objects within the frames of a video (or image) sequence. The OTLG utility identifies and stores a clear image(s) of an object or of multiple objects to be tracked and initiates a mechanism to track the identified objects over a sequence of video or image frames. The OTLG utility utilizes the results of the tracking mechanism to generate, for each video frame, an interactive map frame with interactive links placed in the map frame at a location corresponding to the object's tracked location in each video frame.

A first PND associated with a first person/user in the real environment is within communication range of a second PND. The first PND receives (via electronic communication) and displays a social interaction information signature (SIS) of the second PND. The signature includes a physical mapping/location of the second PND relative to the first PND and provides some information about the second PND's user. Following a selection of the SIS on the first PND, the first PND electronically transmits one or more “request for interaction or information exchange” (RIIE) to the second PND. When the first PND receives a response to the RIIE from the second PND, the user of the first PND receives real-time unequivocal confirmation of whether the second person is interested in interacting/socializing with the user.

Abstract: A method, a system and a computer program product enables directed product advertising to users of an interactively-configured social environment/media that enables real time tracking and reporting of social activities and related information associated with usage/consumption of specific products or patronization of the social establishment by the user. An interactive stock exchange (ISE) utility pre-selects temporary target/bid prices to apply to a product during a “crash”/sales event and dynamically adjusts the standard item price towards the temporary target price, according to sales volume and/or other conditions. The ISE utility triggers an item price crash, and registered patrons are encouraged to use electronic devices to purchase items particularly at crash prices and to interact with other patrons.

Abstract: A method, improved communication device, and application program product enhances and expands the features and functionality of wireless communication devices and mobile computing devices. The embodiments provide the following functionality: (1) Simultaneous texting during ongoing voice communication, providing a text waiting mode for both single number mobile communication devices and multiple number mobile communication devices; (2) Dynamic area code determination and automatic pre-pending of area codes when a requested voice or text communication is initiated without the area code while the mobile communication device is outside of its home-base area code toll area; (3) Enhanced editing functionality for applications on mobile computing devices; (4) Automatic toggle from manual texting mode to voice-to-text based communication mode on detection of high velocity movement of the mobile communication device.

Abstract: An intelligent navigation and vehicle tracking (INVT) utility collects/generates vehicle activity and location information for vehicles equipped with an intelligent navigation device. The INVT utility obtains GPS/location data for various vehicles from information provided by corresponding navigation devices and uses the received location information to calculate congestion and identify alternate routes. Additionally, the INVT utility provides an incentive mechanism for motorists to receive credit/cash rewards for selecting less congested routes. The INVT utility utilizes congestion data to determine the time efficiency and energy efficiency for traveling along particular routes. Furthermore, the INVT utility enables motorists to select routes based on energy expended, time expended and/or available credit/cash rewards.

Abstract: A wireless communication device, a method, and a computer program product that enable multiple subscriber numbers to be concurrently assigned to and supported within a single communication device, such as a wireless/cellular phone. The communication device is designed with circuit components and logic that allows two or more subscriber numbers to be concurrently programmed into the device. Each subscriber number is individually supported, with the logic also providing some overlapping functionality. A user selectively utilizes one of the subscriber numbers to originate a new call out and/or accept an incoming call to that subscriber number and may toggle between subscriber numbers to communicate on.

Abstract: A method performed within a content editing device provides advanced editing functionality for use within user applications having editable content on a user interface. The method provides automatic paste/insertion functionality following a selection of a destination/end location within the document and a subsequent selection of content for insertion at the selected end location. An editor moves content around within the document by tagging the end location and simply selection the content that is to be moved/copied to that end location. The method further enables efficient re-arrangement of multiple individual content blocks within a single document or across multiple documents by tagging each content with a sequence number indicative of the relative location of that content within the desired re-arranged sequence of content. Once the content has been tagged, a selectable option automatically orders the content in correct sequence relative to each other and/or to existing content in the resulting document.
