    Abstract: An apparatus includes a tool (3100, 3200). The tool includes: a handle (3106, 3206) that is configured to suspend a remainder of the tool there below and that includes a protruding overhang (3130, 3230); and a height lock assembly (4000) having a block (4002), the block having an upper tab (4010U). In a side view in which the tool is upright and in which the protruding overhang extends in a horizontally lateral direction: when the block is in an engaged position the upper tab extends in the horizontally lateral direction relatively further and is disposed under at least a portion of the protruding overhang; and in a disengaged position the upper tab extends in the horizontally lateral direction less such that the upper tab is retracted from under the at least a portion of the protruding overhang.

This sealing separates an ultra-high vacuum (UHV) environment in the insert from a high vacuum (HV) environment surrounding the end of the insert and also positions an upper surface of the top in the UHV environment.

The winch includes a drum, and wire arrangement configured to be reversibly wound onto the drum by a first drive. The tool is suspended below a distal end of the wire arrangement and configured to suspend an object. Both the tool and the object are sized to fit inside a device located below the winch. The carousel is connected to a second drive configured to rotate the carousel around a vertical axis, and includes a storage space centered at a first horizontal angle and a pass-through opening at a different second horizontal angle. The pass-through opening being large enough to pass the tool and the object as the wire arrangement is unwound from the drum thereby lowering the tool and object inside the device.
