  • Publication number: 20250102810
Abstract: A head-mounted device may have a head-mounted housing containing rear-facing displays that display images for a user when the head-mounted housing is worn. The head-mounted housing may be coupled to the user's head using a headband. The headband may include an upper headband portion and a lower headband portion that extends from the first headband portion. The upper and lower headband portions may extend from the head-mounted housing at fixed angles and may be offset from a support post of the head-mounted housing. Stiffeners may be included in the upper and lower headband portions. The stiffeners may include graded stiffeners and/or braided cords that help the upper and/or lower headband portions conform to a user's head. The headband may also include a temple housing coupled to the upper and lower headband portions that has an opening to attach the headband to the support post and/or may include keeper loops.

  • Publication number: 20240402760
Abstract: A head-mounted device may have a head-mounted housing containing rear-facing displays that display images for a user when the head-mounted housing is worn by the user. The head-mounted device housing may have housing structures such as elongated housing members with protruding posts. Multiple headbands may be removably coupled to the head-mounted device housing at the protruding posts. A first headband may have a strap with openings configured to receive the posts. Releasable latches may be provided to allow selective engagement and disengagement between the headband and the housing. A second headband may be coupled to the posts between the housing members and the first headband. Alternatively, the first headband may surround the post, and the second headband may be coupled to the post through the opening in the first headband. One or more hair guards and/or one or more keeper loops may be incorporated between the headbands.

The stiffeners may be formed from braided cords and may be embedded in the first and second headband portions to allow the headband to conform to a user's head when worn. Other stiffeners may be mounted to a surface of the headband to maintain an angle between the first and second headband portions. The ends of the headband may have curved corners, and may appear seamless to the naked eye.

  • Publication number: 20240184330
Abstract: A head-mounted device may have a head-mounted housing containing rear-facing displays that display images for a user when the head-mounted housing is worn by the user. The head-mounted device may have an adjustable-tension headband coupled between first and second sides of the head-mounted housing. The adjustable-tension headband may be operable in a stretch fabric tensioned mode in which tension for the headband is provided by stretching a length of stretchable fabric in the headband and may be operable in a cable-tensioned mode in which tension for the headband is applied by a tensioned cable. A knob or other adjustable cable tensioning mechanism may be used to adjust cable tension.

  • Publication number: 20240184329
Abstract: A head-mounted device may have a main housing containing displays that display images to eye boxes for a user when the head-mounted device is worn by the user. The head-mounted device may include a light-shielding structure coupled to the main housing and configured to rest on the nasal region of the user. The light-shielding structure may include rigid members, flexible members, and/or fabric members. The light-shielding structure may conform to the facial features of the user around the nasal region to block environmental light from entering the eye boxes when the head-mounted device is worn by the user.

  • Patent number: 11713157
Abstract: Packaging is provided including an upper lid having a handle disposed within a channel of a surface of the upper lid and vertically movable within the channel. A lower base box is coupled to the handle via a strap, such that a lifting force imparted to the handle lifts the lower base box when the strap becomes taut. The vertical movement of the handle within the channel overcomes any slack in the strap such that the handle does not contact an upper vertical surface in the upper lid, but a gapless interface between the upper lid and lower base box is maintained during lifting of the packaging. The strap is detachable from the handle and from the base box, such that it may be removed in order to open packaging by lifting the lid off of the base box.

  • Patent number: 9725198
Abstract: Shrink wrap films that are customized to have a shape matching a shape of a particular part or parts are disclosed. The shrink wrap films can be formed using unique manufacturing techniques that involve heating the part or parts prior to applying the shrink wrap film. The resultant part or parts will have substantially wrinkle-free and defect-free shrink wrap film applied thereon. In some embodiments, additional functional and cosmetic features are formed in the shrink wrap film. In some embodiments, a laser cutting procedure is used to form the features in the shrink wrap film. Methods can be used to provide visually and tactilely smooth and aesthetically appealing shrink wrapped consumer products.
