  • Publication number: 20190057854
Abstract: Disclosed herein are mass spectrometers having segmented electrodes and associated methods. According to an aspect, an apparatus or mass spectrometer includes an ion source configured to generate ions from a sample. The apparatus also includes a detector configured to detect a plurality of mass-to-charge ratios associated with the ions. Further, the apparatus includes segmented electrodes positioned between the ion source and the detector. The apparatus also includes a controller configured to selectively apply a voltage across the segmented electrodes for forming a predetermined electric field profile.

  • Patent number: 8066714
Abstract: Instruments for inserting an implant in a space between adjacent bony portions include upper and lower guide members and a drive assembly between the spreaders with an implant positioned forwardly of the drive assembly. The drive assembly is coupled to a handle assembly, and the handle assembly is operable to move the implant forwardly between the guide members to position the implant in a space between the bony portions. The handle assembly includes a mounting portion to which the drive assembly is mounted and an actuating portion operable to effect linear movement of the drive assembly.

  • Publication number: 20090185559
Abstract: An integration module for universal serial bus installed on an electronic equipment includes an integration unit electrically coupled on at least one transmission interface of the electronic equipment to be driven by a host-to-host control unit to enter a host-to-host transmission mode or a host-to-device control unit to enter a host-to-device transmission mode. The integration unit has a switch mechanism to determine whether the transmission interface to become the host-to-host transmission mode or the host-to-device transmission mode. Through the switch mechanism of the integration unit, a single transmission interface can selectively transmit data between hosts or between a host and devices.

  • Publication number: 20090062917
Abstract: A spinal interbody replacement device for supporting vertebrae in the space between the vertebrae includes a connecting member having upper and lower disc replacement members engageable thereto at opposite ends of the connecting member to provide a corpectomy device. The disc replacement members are sized to be positioned in a spinal disc space between adjacent vertebrae when disengaged from the connecting member.

  • Publication number: 20080262501
Abstract: A multi-functional surgical instrument assembly for installing an implant between adjacent bone structures is disclosed that is capable of distracting adjacent bone structures, generating a measurement for a prosthetic implant, and installing the prosthetic implant without being removed from the patient. The surgical instrument includes a frame having a pair of opposing distracter arms movable toward or away from one another to a predetermined setting indicative of a height requirement of the implant. A pair of opposing spreader support segments is connected with a respective distal end of the distracter arms and extend downwardly a predetermined distance in relation to the distracter arms. A pair of opposing implant guide segments is connected with a distal end of the opposing spreader support segments. An inserter is detachably connected with the prosthetic implant, wherein the prosthetic implant is positioned between the opposing implant guide segments using the inserter.
