  • Patent number: 10411576
Abstract: A primary for a linear induction motor having a core, electrical winding coils and a cooling system. The core extends longitudinally and has slots extending laterally in a first face thereof. Electrical winding coils inserted in the slots have end turns that extend laterally beyond each side of the core. The electrical winding coils are aligned sequentially along a length of the core. The cooling system, which is adapted to receive a cooling fluid, includes a serpentine tubing assembly and two lateral tubes. The serpentine tubing assembly is at least partially in contact with the core so as to transfer heat from the core to the environment. Each one of the two lateral tubes extend longitudinally along a different side of the core and within a respective longitudinal alignment of the end turns of the electrical winding coils.

    Assignee: Bombardier Transportation GmbH
Inventors: Peter Edward Timan, Evan Chou
  • Patent number: 9934473
Abstract: In accordance with embodiments, there are provided mechanisms and methods for selecting a synchronous or asynchronous process to determine a forecast. These mechanisms and methods for such synchronous/asynchronous process selection can enable embodiments to determine forecasts for multiple users (e.g. with hierarchical relationships, etc.) over an arbitrary time interval. The ability of embodiments to provide forecasts that involve such a large amount of data in an effective way can enable forecasting that was otherwise infeasible due to resource limitations.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: April 3, 2018

  • Patent number: 6928432
Abstract: A new and useful updating tool is provided for indexing electronic text in a highly integrated electronic text indexing and search system. The integrated system encompasses a concept model, a query model, an enhanced markup tool, a user interface, and a search engine. A domain expert utilizes the integrated system to efficiently and effectively indexing electronic text for precise and fast retrieval by a search engine. The updating tool aids the indexing process as a consequence of changes in the query model, to an indexed document, or both. The updating tool comprises a document change tool and a query model change tool as well as an enhanced markup tool and an enhanced query model tool. The updating tool guides the domain expert by suggesting which indices need to be updated and flags index entries that need to be removed.
