A series of processes may be performed to acquire cryptocurrency for distribution to a user account of the payment instrument, and when authorized, the cryptocurrency reward amount may be associated, sometimes directly, with a lending platform such that an earning amount is provided to the user in exchange for lending the cryptocurrency on the lending platform.
