  • Publication number: 20260134412
Abstract: A modular biometric retrofit device and universal mounting assembly are disclosed herein. The device integrates RGB and near-infrared imaging, anti-spoofing optics, an internal rechargeable battery, and a USB-C power and data interface within a compact housing that can be attached to existing point-of-sale terminals, kiosks, handheld payment units, drive-thru menu boards, order-confirmation screens, speaker boxes, and humanoid robots for adding biometric identification capabilities thereto. The universal mounting assembly includes a variety of interchangeable mechanical and electrical adapters—clamp, suction, recessed, magnetic, adhesive, and vendor-specific brackets—enabling attachment without modification of host hardware. The retrofit device provides multi-spectral liveness detection, extended-range operation, and secure data communication for payment authorization, creating a standardized platform for biometric identification across retail and service environments.

  • Patent number: 9601044
Abstract: A display apparatus is provided that includes an array of pixel elements, a control arrangement, and a drive mechanism. Each array can display a selection of colors. Each pixel element is mounted at one end of an individual support member. Each support member can be displaced in forwards and reverse directions, and is hollow and has a longitudinally extending series of projections on an interior surface thereof. The control arrangement is operable to control the color that is displayed by each individual pixel element. The drive mechanism includes a gear which is engaged with the projections, and a motor for rotating the gear. Rotation of the gear causes longitudinal movement of the support member with respect to the drive mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20130307756
Abstract: A display apparatus includes an array of pixel elements, each of which can be illuminated by light shone from an individual light source for each pixel. The display apparatus has a base configuration in which the pixel elements form a substantially continuous surface. Each pixel element is mounted on an individual hollow support member that transmits light from the light source to that pixel and has walls that prevent leakage of light. The support member is displaced in forwards and rearward directions by a drive mechanism provided for displacing each support member individually.
