    Abstract: A pipeline padding machine is disclosed. The pipeline padding machine includes a machine main frame, a cabin coupled to the machine main frame and an extension mechanism. The extension mechanism can couple the cabin to the machine main frame. The extension mechanism can be configured to translate the cabin vertically relative to the machine main frame. Because the extension mechanism can translate the cabin vertically, the pipeline padding machine can allow for improved operator access and improved operating positions. Alternatively, or additionally, the cabin may be horizontally translated and/or rotated about a vertical axis.

    Abstract: A method is disclosed. The method includes disposing an automated welding device adjacent to a pipe joint and welding an open root pass via the automated welding device using the predefined welding process, wherein the predefined welding process is configured to control a welding arc in response to a short circuit condition. A secondary welding process can be overlaid on the predefined welding process by cycling welding parameter of the predefined welding process can be cycled between a high parameter value and a low parameter value about a base parameter value. Further, an arc between the automated welding device and the pipe joint can be maintained during welding. Because the welding parameter is cycled between a high and low parameter value, the automated welding device can deliver consistent successful welds.

    Abstract: According to another aspect, clinical trial execution can be improved based on a paradigm shift to a remote model. In various embodiments, the system manages and executes an asynchronous visit, that is a system based visit simulating doctor or clinician interaction for a respective clinical trial participant or a patient medical visit. According to various embodiments, the asynchronous visit enables patient or participant interaction with the system unbounded by time or place—this represents a leap forward in clinical trial execution, as both trained personnel availability and location restriction have significantly limited the ability to conduct trials. In some examples, these limitations have prevented qualified participants from engaging with a trial run. Thus the system avoids a variety of known problem with conventional trial execution, and for example, situations where a trial with a small qualifying population cannot afford to lose even one qualified patient.
