  • Publication number: 20220245178
Abstract: A method of generating search suggestions includes receiving an indication of a current location of the user device. After a user accesses a search function on the user device and before the user submits a search request, the method includes determining search results associated with locations in proximity to the current location of the user device, using query log data indicating selections of past search results by users after presentation of the past search results in response to respective past queries. The method also includes determining relative positioning of the search results based on the number of users that selected each search result, determining categories associated with the search results, grouping the search results by the determined categories; and sending the grouped search results and the one or more categories associated with the search results to the user device for display according to the determined relative positioning.

  • Patent number: 10346026
Abstract: A method includes receiving a first input through a hands-based input device. A prompt is then output, and input responsive to the prompt may be received through either of a hands-based input device or a hands-free input device. Responsive to receiving a second input through a hands-free input device, a determination that the second input is responsive to the prompt may be made, an operation based on the second input may be performed, and cessation of the output of the prompt may occur.

  • Patent number: 9384266
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on one or more computer storage devices, for predictive generation of search suggestions. The methods include receiving a first location from a user device. The methods include determining, prior to receiving a search request, search results associated with locations in proximity to the first location. The methods also include sending the search results to the user device.

  • Publication number: 20150254250
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products, for providing alternative search results for a query. In one aspect, a method includes transmitting a set of one or more search results for a query to a client device for presentation to a user, where each search result refers to a respective resource, receiving from the client device an alternative search result submitted by the user for the query, associating the alternative search result with the query, and storing in a repository the query and the alternative search result, where the alternative search result is transmitted with the set of one or more search results for a new search of the query.

  • Publication number: 20150127345
Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes listening for audio name information indicative of a name of a computer, with the computer configured to listen for the audio name information in a first power mode that promotes a conservation of power; detecting the audio name information indicative of the name of the computer; after detection of the audio name information, switching to a second power mode that promotes a performance of speech recognition; receiving audio command information; and performing speech recognition on the audio command information.

  • Patent number: 8970583
Abstract: When rendering a three-dimensional (3D) image, a render list is generated. The render list is sorted according to proximity to a notional camera, where each element of the render list specifies geometry and texture of a portion of the 3D image, and where at least two elements of the render list correspond to different levels of detail (LODs). The render list is then traversed twice: in the first instance, the render list is traversed to render each element in the render list to a respective texture, which includes applying a depth management technique to account for occlusion; in the second instance, the render list is traversed in a back-to-front order to render each of the textures to a display buffer to generate the 3D image, which includes applying an image space manipulation technique to at least some of the textures.
