The press-pot piston sidewall is dimensioned to be selectively storable at least partially within the cook pot. The storage container having an exterior portion with a lower portion dimensioned to be selectively storable at least partially within the piston interior chamber. The storage container and the press-pot piston being releasably threaded together.

The other end of the arbor is in a mechanical relationship to one of the aligned plates that prohibits rotational movement of the arbor when the aligned plates are engaged but allows rotational movement of the arbor when the aligned plates are temporarily disengaged.
