  • Publication number: 20250041302
Abstract: A majority of military casualties occur during the pre-hospital period. The cause of death is largely associated with massive traumatic bleeding that leads to organ damage due to sustained hypoxia. Currently, therapeutics are lacking at the point of injury to mitigate hypoxic damage and maintain the survivability of severe hemorrhage prior to reaching medical facilities. This invention addresses that by introducing a method of co-administering prolyl hydroxylase domain inhibitor (PHDi, MK-8617), anti-fibrinolytic agent (tranexamic acid), and bradykinin receptor antagonist (icatibant) as anti-hemorrhage agents in combination with resuscitation fluid treatment with colloid solution of 25% human albumin that has an advantage of relatively small volume requirement to maintain blood volume. In addition, a kit comprising anti-hemorrhage agents that can be easily carried to the battlefield is also provided here.

  • Publication number: 20230277346
Abstract: Stent assemblies and related methods for creating an anastomosis employ a bioresorbable stent. A stent assembly includes a bioresorbable stent and one or more bioresorbable retention devices. The stent is configured for retaining a first section of a tubular organ in contact with a second section of the tubular organ to accommodate wound healing for connecting of the first and second sections of the tubular organ. A first end portion of the stent is configured to accommodate insertion into the first section of the tubular organ and inhibit removal from the first section of the tubular organ. A second end portion of the stent is configured to accommodate insertion into the second section of the tubular organ and inhibit removal from the second section of the tubular organ. The one or more retention devices are configurable to secure the first and second sections of the tubular organ to the stent.

  • Patent number: 9600101
Abstract: An interactive board comprises an interactive surface; at least one user selectable element; and processing structure in communication with at least one imaging device and configured to process data received from said at least one imaging device to locate at least one pointer positioned in proximity with said interactive surface and update digital ink according to pointer location, said processing structure being further configured to send said digital ink to one or more devices in communication with the interactive board in response to selection of said at least one user selectable element.

  • Publication number: 20130012041
Abstract: An electrical connector adaptor system for connecting a base media device having at least one integral electrical connector with one or more detachable second media devices. The integral connector is located within a mechanical adaptor for protecting a second media device from mechanical damage and/or to prevent lateral movement of the second media device. Each second media device has a connector that may differ from a connector of other second media devices, or the second media device may have a different form factor from other second media devices. The system includes a detachable electrical connector adaptor module which has a first electrical connector for mating with the base media device integral connector and a second electrical connector for mating with the second media device.

  • Publication number: 20070015457
Abstract: An entertainment system comprising a base unit with a transceiver for interacting, at times, with a control unit via a communications link, and a control unit for controlling the base unit, the control unit being dockable with the base unit to establish direct electrical connection between them, and including a transceiver for interacting with the control unit via said link when undocked. The control unit is a separate aspect of the invention or system. The base unit may contain a tuner, preferably with bandless tuning capability, and may be designed to receive into a universal docking arrangement a digitally controllable auxiliary audio source such as a portable MP3 player or other device. The base unit may further provide alarm clock functionality with numerous features including a “fail-safe” volume control system and fail-safe alarm time setting capability.
