  • Publication number: 20210238919
Abstract: A screen assembly used with a fenestration unit, the screen assembly capable of being installed at manufacture or retroactively to fenestration units. The screen assembly is installable on a fenestration unit having a frame and a window sash. The screen assembly includes a housing having a first housing member and a second housing member, wherein the housing forms a screen retention space between the first and second housing members when the screen assembly is in a closed position. It further includes a pleated screen positioned between the first and second housing members when the screen assembly is in the closed position, wherein the pleated screen includes a first end coupled to the first housing member and a second end coupled to the second housing member. The screen assembly also includes a catch element configured to releasably engage with the window sash.

  • Patent number: 9470029
Abstract: A casement window includes a lower hinge that has an oil-impregnated roller to facilitate easy opening and closing of the window, particularly with larger, heavier casement windows. In some instances, the lower hinge includes a housing having a roller portion and a guide portion. A roller can be disposed within the roller portion and a guide can be snap fitted into the guide portion. In some cases, a removable shipping spacer fits under the lower hinge and helps to support the weight of the sash during transport and storage.

  • Publication number: 20060272274
Abstract: A closure assembly and a method of installing the closure assembly are provided. A insertion opening is formed in water resistant barrier covering a rough opening that generally corresponds to a perimeter of the rough opening. A drainage system including a channel assembly is installed on a sill surface of the rough opening. The closure assembly is inserted into the rough opening and temporarily secured to the structure. At least one shim carried on the closure assembly is adjusted to level the closure assembly in the rough opening. A sealing member attached to the closure assembly is engaged with the water resistant barrier. A foam material is delivered into at least a portion of a space between perimeter edge surfaces of the closure assembly and inner surfaces of the rough opening to permanently secure the closure assembly within the rough opening.

  • Publication number: 20050102766
Abstract: The method of the present invention includes rotating the washing basket at a tumble speed insufficient to plaster the fabrics against the basket wall. The rotational speed is increased to a first plaster speed which causes the fabrics to be plastered against the basket wall. The plaster speed is increased to a second plaster speed higher than the first. Then the rotational speed of the washing basket is returned to the first plaster speed and the washing fluid is drained from the washing basket. The spin cycle is then begun. During the spin cycle a torque or speed sensor senses increased torque or reduced rotational speed of the washing basket caused by fabrics frictionally engaging the flexible boot during rotation of the washing basket at the spin speed. If such conditions are sensed, the spin cycle is terminated.
