  • Publication number: 20230252541
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for automatic subscription-based ordering of product components. During display of media content, the system receives a voice input and determines that the voice input indicates interest in a product. The system identifies the components required to create the product and identifies a subscription to an automated shopping service. Upon identifying the subscription, the system determines whether required components are available via the automated shopping service. Further, the system excludes components that were previously purchased via the automated shopping service, and the system automatically places an order through the automated shopping service for the remaining components.

  • Publication number: 20230188796
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for scheduling a communication session for casting a vote relating to a media asset based on metadata of the media asset. A media guidance application may receive a frame of a media asset including voting information and metadata including communication data related to the voting information. The communication data may include a destination and a communication format. In response to receiving a command from a user input device, the media guidance application may extract the communication data from the metadata, generate a command to engage in communications using the communication data, and transmit the communication data and the command to a communication module. The media guidance application may then receive a trigger to engage in the communications. In response to the trigger, the media guidance application may instruct the communication module to execute the command to cast a vote.

  • Patent number: 11282123
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for providing media recommendation to a user based on analyzing a blockchain ledger. A user interest score that represents interest of the user in media assets associated with a first keyword is stored. A blockchain ledger is accessed. The blockchain ledger includes multiple blocks, each block identifying: (1) a media asset; (2) a seller user; and (3) buyer user. A blockchain ledger is searched to find a block that: (1) identifies a first media asset that comprises metadata which includes the first keyword; and (2) identifies the user as the seller. The user interest score is then reduced based on such a block being found. A media asset recommendation is then provided to the user based on the user interest score.

In some embodiments, a media guidance application determines that a user is viewing playback of a media asset comprising a sporting event, identifies competitors featured in the sporting event, and retrieves, from a information identifying competitors in which the user is interested. The media guidance application determines therefrom competitors featured in the sporting event in which the user is not interested, and compares interests of the user that are not commonly shared by a general population to interests of the determined competitors. An uncommon interest is identified as common between a competitor and the user, and the user is provided an option to perform an action associated with the competitor.
