  • Publication number: 20180146041
Abstract: Generally discussed herein are systems, devices, and methods for data management in a reverse content data network (rCDN). A component of the rCDN may include a memory to hold content received from a first sensor device of a plurality of sensor devices of the rCDN and first attributes that describe properties of the content. The component may include processing circuitry to receive second content from a second sensor device of the plurality of sensor devices, the second content including a plurality of second attributes that describe properties of the second content, and forward, in response to a determination, based on the first and second attributes, that there is insufficient space to store the second content on the memory, the second content to a node of the rCDN that is fewer hops away from a backend cloud than the component.

  • Publication number: 20180146060
Abstract: System and techniques for network coding in an information centric network (ICN) are described herein. A request for a first portion of first named data may be received. A response to the request for the first portion of the first named data may be obtained. The first portion may be combined with a second portion for second named data to create a set of network coded responses. Names for members of the set of network coded responses may be created based on a first name for the first portion and a second name for the second portion. A response to the request may be made with the set of network coded responses using the names for members of the set of network coded responses.

  • Publication number: 20180146059
Abstract: Generally discussed herein are systems, devices, and methods for populating a cache in an information-centric network. A device of an ICN can include a content store including published content and attributes of the published content stored thereon, the attributes including at least two of a device from which the content originated attribute, a lineage attribute, and a service level agreement attribute, and content processing circuitry coupled to the content store, the content processing circuitry configured to manage the published content based on the attributes.

  • Publication number: 20180146071
Abstract: Generally discussed herein are systems, devices, and methods for interfacing between a host-oriented network (HON) and an information-centric network (ICN). A device can include a first interface to couple to a host-oriented network (HON), a second interface to couple to an information-centric network (ICN), a memory including data stored thereon mapping named data in the ICN to a respective host in the HON, and content processing circuitry to receive an interest packet or content packet from the ICN through the first interface, produce a corresponding HON packet based on the mapping in the memory, and provide the HON packet to the HON through the second interface.

  • Publication number: 20180146058
Abstract: Generally discussed herein are systems, devices, and methods for managing content of an information centric network (ICN). A component of an ICN can include a memory including an extended content store that includes content from at least one other component of the ICN, and first attributes of the content, the first attributes including a content popularity value that indicates a number of requests for the content, and processing circuitry to increment the content popularity value in response to a transmission of a first content packet that includes the content, the first content packet transmitted in response to receiving an interest packet.

  • Publication number: 20180146380
Abstract: System and techniques for radio spectrum sharing are described herein. A free radio spectrum block may be identified. An identification packet of the free radio spectrum block may be published. Here, the identification packet may include at least one of available spectrum, time, or area corresponding to the free radio spectrum block. An acknowledgement to the identification packet may be received. A provider of the free radio spectrum block may then be caused to cease radio communication on the available spectrum for the time and area specified in the identification packet.

  • Publication number: 20180101688
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to protecting, and recovering protected information, with attribute-based encryption. a predefined attribute policy defines one or more combinations of recipient attributes that entitle the recipient entity to attain access to the protected information. A set of at least one trust criterion is derived from the predefined attribute policy. The at least one trust criterion represents a measure of trust attainable by at least one combination or relationship of the plurality of recipient attributes. At least one trust assessment is produced based on application of the predefined attribute policy to the plurality of recipient attributes. The at least one trust assessment is compared to the at least one trust criterion, the result of the comparison providing an access grant to a decryption process to recover the protected information from the cyphertext.

  • Patent number: 8612579
Abstract: A method and system for detecting and reducing botnet activity includes tracking the number of connections to a destination address over predetermined periods of time. A persistence value is assigned to the destination address based on the number of time periods during which the destination address was connected. The persistence value is compared to a threshold value and an alert is generated if the persistence value is greater than the threshold value. Known safe destinations may be entered into a whitelist.

  • Patent number: 8296591
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure describe methods, computer-readable media and system configurations for stochastic power management of one or more computer systems. A method may include ascertaining a workload of a plurality of computer systems (e.g., a data center). Additionally or alternatively, a method may include initiating, by a control module operated by a processor of a first of the plurality of computer systems, a stochastic power management process to manage power consumption of the first of the plurality of computer systems. The stochastic power management process may be conditionally initiated based at least in part on the ascertained workload of the plurality of computer systems. The stochastic power management process may include a plurality of virtual machine management actions having corresponding probabilities being taken, one or more of which may result in power savings. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
