Abstract: A tubular insertion aid for catheter manipulation is disclosed. The insertion aid is particularly suited for urinary catheters, such as hydrophilic urinary catheters for intermittent use.

Abstract: A catheter assembly is disclosed, comprising a catheter and an elongate package accommodating said catheter in a closed condition. The package is provided with an insert opening arranged to releasably receive an end of the elongate package in the closed condition, thereby temporarily retaining said closed package in a folded disposition in which also the catheter is folded.

Abstract: A catheter, and preferably a urinary catheter, is disclosed, comprising an elongate shaft, an insertable end formed in or connected to one end of the elongate shaft, and a discharge end formed in or connected to the opposite end of the elongate shaft. Further, the catheter further comprises an insertion aid at least partly encircling the discharge end, and being integrally and releasably connected to the discharge end. Hereby, easy production is achieved, and at the same time, the insertion aid may easily be removed for use as an insertion aid when using the catheter.

Abstract: A catheter assembly is disclosed, comprising a catheter, such as a urinary catheter, which at least a partly is provided with a hydrophilic coating. The catheter assembly further comprises a wetting fluid. The receptacle is in direct contact with the hydrophilic coating of the catheter over essentially the entire length of the part of the catheter being provided with the hydrophilic coating. This may e.g. be achieved by using a shrink wrap material. In order to accomplish adequate wetting, channels or the like may be provided on the inner surface of the receptacle or the outer surface of the catheter.

Abstract: A catheter assembly comprising: a catheter having on at least part of its surface a hydrophilic surface layer intended to produce a low-friction surface character of the catheter by treatment with a wetting fluid prior to use of the catheter; a wetting fluid pouch comprising first and second layers of flexible material joined by a seal to form a sealed closure accommodating said wetting fluid; a receptacle forming a cavity for accommodation of said catheter and said wetting fluid pouch, said wetting fluid pouch being openable by compression of said wetting fluid pouch, thereby enabling the wetting fluid to be discharged into the receptacle, wherein at least one of said first and second layers of said wetting fluid pouch extends beyond the seal of the sealed closure to form an attachment area outside the sealed closure, wherein said wetting fluid pouch is attached to an inner surface of said receptacle, said attachment being provided solely between the receptacle and said attachment area.
