  • Publication number: 20240040738
Abstract: Embodiments may be directed to a codesigned shroud for a chassis comprising a plurality of components and a plurality of fans generating a plurality of airflows to cool the plurality of components. The codesigned shroud may have a plurality of walls defining a plurality of channels, wherein at least two walls of the plurality of walls define each channel of the plurality of channels. Each channel may be aligned with a direction of an airflow of the plurality of airflows. At least one channel includes a set of baffles oriented substantially perpendicular to the direction of an airflow in the channel. Each baffle may be formed with acoustically absorbent material to absorb acoustic energy that could affect performance of a component, wherein a first baffle of the set of baffles is offset from a second baffle of the set of baffles.

  • Publication number: 20240040736
Abstract: In one or more embodiments, one or more systems may comprise a system for reducing acoustic energy in a chassis, the system comprising an acoustically absorbent material configured to fill a volume in the chassis between a set of fans and a set of components. A plurality of ducts formed in the acoustically absorbent material prevents turbulent shedding around obstacles and areas of recirculation to streamline the airflows and the acoustically absorbent material absorbs acoustic energy traveling through the ducts.

  • Publication number: 20240040735
Abstract: Embodiments may be generally directed to a system for generating reactive acoustic energy for reducing acoustic noise in a chassis of an information handling system. A set of acoustically reactive elements may be positioned relative to a backplane comprising a plurality of backplane openings. Each acoustically reactive element comprises a plurality of walls and an acoustical energy reducing opening. • Publication number: 20240036622
Abstract: In one or more embodiments, an information handling system may include an information indication assembly. For example, the information indication assembly may include at least one light emitter; multiple conductors coupled to the at least one light emitter; a pin that includes a rigid material and that permits the first plurality of conductors to pass through; and a grommet that includes an elastic material and configured to house the pin. In one instance, the pin and the grommet may be aligned along a longitudinal axis of the information indication assembly. In a second instance the pin and the grommet form a fastener of a fan associated with the information handling system. In another instance, the elastic material may mitigate vibrations from the fan. In one or more embodiments, a printed circuit board may include the multiple conductors. For example, the printed circuit board may be a flexible printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 10010015
Abstract: An enhanced airflow chassis system includes a component chassis that defines a chassis enclosure including a chassis entrance and component slots. First component carriers are mounted to first components and positioned in each of the component slots. • Publication number: 20140372493
Abstract: A system and method for accelerating evaluation of functions. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, by a processor, a value to be processed, and notification of a function to be applied to the value. The value is represented in a floating point format. The value is converted, by the processor, to a fixed point format. Which of Newton-Raphson and polynomial approximation is to be used to apply the function to the value in the fixed point format is determined by the processor. The function is applied to the value in the fixed point format to generate a result in the fixed point format. The result is converted to the floating point format by the processor.

  • Patent number: 4268338
Abstract: Two or more layers of nonpolar thermoplastic film are bonded together by application of an RF current. The layers of thermoplastic film are pressed against a thin electrode plate, which lies atop a thin sheet of dielectric material supported on a conductive electrode die having a face or configuration to define the shape of the seal to be formed between the layers. RF current is applied to the electrode plate and to the electrode die, generating localized heat in the portions of the dielectric sheet overlying the die until the thermoplastic material has softened sufficiently to form a seal. A release agent, such as a sheet of polytetrafluoroethylene, can be provided on one surface of the electrode plate to prevent the thermoplastic material from sticking to the electrode plate.
