  • Patent number: 4523028
Abstract: Acrylic or methacrylic terminated unsaturated maleate or fumarate oligomers are disclosed. The oligomers can be reacted with other ethylenically unsaturated compounds through the acrylate, methacrylate, or maleate/fumarate functionality, they can also be reacted with amines through Michael addition to the acrylic or maleate unsaturation with or without a post reaction through the methacrylate functionality.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 13, 1984
Date of Patent: June 11, 1985
    Assignee: Rohm and Haas Company

  • Patent number: 4400500
Abstract: This invention relates to polyaminoester thermosetting resins prepared by reacting polyalkylene maleate oligomers with polyfunctional amines via a Michael type addition reaction. The reaction is preferably conducted by a RIM process. Alpha, beta ethylenically unsaturated monomers, which are slow to react with amines, may be added to the reaction to copolymerize with the maleate functionality in a post cure step. The polyaminoester thermosetting resins are useful as plastics, coatings, resin modifiers, and elastomers.

  • Patent number: 4396760
Abstract: A thermosettable polyaminoester composition useful as a plastic, coating, resin modifier, and elastomer is provided. The thermosettable polyaminoester is formed by reacting one or more acrylic or methacrylic terminated polyalkylene maleate or fumarate oligomers with one or more polyamines and optionally with one or more alpha, beta-ethylenically unsaturated monomers. The composition is especially useful in the RIM process.
