  • Publication number: 20240139870
Abstract: A laser crafting apparatus for directing electromagnetic radiation toward a workpiece may include various features. For example, the laser crafting apparatus may include a material support tray that is removably supported within an internal volume of the laser crafting apparatus. Further, the apparatus may include pre-filter disposed in a ventilation pathway between a workspace region of the internal volume and an extractor fan. The laser crafting apparatus may include a laser carriage assembly that houses a laser module and the assembly may include a lens tray detachably coupled to the support structure of the laser carriage assembly. In various embodiments, the laser crafting apparatus includes a lid having a radiation attenuation layer and a fire suppression layer.

  • Patent number: 10114384
Abstract: A method for implementation of a formation flight path coordination for a scalable group of Unmanned Arial Vehicles (UAVs) including a recursive architecture with a leader UAV and a plurality of follower UAVs in communication with the leader UAV, the method comprising the steps of: receiving formation commands for the UAVs of the group from a ground controller station (GCS), the formation commands including positional and velocity information for implementation by onboard processing systems, the formation commands received on a first communication channel established between the leader UAV and the GCS; sending information from the formation commands by the leader UAV to the plurality of follower UAVs belonging to the leader UAV using a second communication channel established between the plurality of follower UAVs and the leader UAV, the second communication channel separate from the first communication channel; receiving updated formation commands for the flight path from the GCS on the first communication c

  • Publication number: 20060231088
Abstract: A flue-gas to air heat exchanger having a flue-gas containing shell with a heat exchange surface, flue-gas inlet and outlet sections, and at least one tubular clean-out fitting is provided with a removable plug having an outer peripheral portion resiliently engageable with a section of the inner peripheral portion of the fitting adjacent the shell. The plug periphery is expanded into gas-tight sealing contact with the fitting inner periphery by means affording installation and removal without tools.

  • Patent number: 5938288
Abstract: An automatic control of the operation of a machine used for excavating drifts, tunnels, stopes, caverns or the like of a predetermined profile having a rotatable head (10) and cutting arms (14, 16) mounted on the head for rotation therewith, extending in the direction of excavation with at least one cutting arm (14, 16) being radially pivotable. The angular position (.phi.) of the head (10) is continuously measured and the output signals from these measurements are processed by the computer (44) which controls the angular positions of the head and of the arms according to a predetermined profile code or program stored in the computer memory for cutting the predetermined profile. Additional sensors (54,56) may be provided to control other parameters such as RPM of the rotating head, the force exerted on the arms, the positioning of the machine and the like.

  • Patent number: 4108528
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for making electrical contact with test points, such as in a printed circuit, on a test member. A mounting is provided for the test member at a location for test. A plurality of spaced conductive probe heads each have, oppositely facing, a contact side and a bearing side and are arranged in an array corresponding to the test points on the test member. The contact sides are adjacent the test member location. At least one resilient member has one side adjacent the bearing sides of the probe heads. A backup plate has a bearing side adjacent the opposite side of the resilient member from the probe heads. Pressure is applied through the backup plate and the resilient member to the bearing side of the probe heads forcing the contact sides of the probe heads in the direction of the test member location.

  • Patent number: 4050762
Abstract: A miniature low resistance telescoping spring probe includes telescoping tubular housing and inner plunger. Both the housing and plunger are elongated and of an electrically conductive material. The plunger has a probe head external to the housing. The inner wall of the housing and the outer wall of the plunger are engaged and concentric, providing a sliding electrical connection and a bearing therebetween. A coil compression spring urges the housing and plunger in longitudinally opposite directions. A separate low electrical resistance wiper spring member is affixed to the plunger. A substantially constant low resistance electrical connection is provided between the wiper spring member and the plunger. The wiper spring member has at least one longitudinally extending leg spring loaded outwardly into engagement with the inside wall of the housing.
