    Abstract: The present invention is directed to a kidney stone retrieval device which includes a basket between a ferrule and a tube. Both the tube and the ferrule have aligned passages for receiving a guide wire. In this way, the guide wire may be inserted into a ureter past the stone so that the retrieval device may be pushed along the guide wire until the basket reaches and passes the stone, whereupon the device is maneuvered for dislodging and retrieving the stone with the basket.
