  • Publication number: 20220324179
Abstract: A method of additive manufacturing (AM) includes dispensing a first building material formulation to form an outer region, and dispensing a second building material formulation to form an inner region, the outer region surrounding the inner region, the inner and outer regions being shaped to form a layer of the object; exposing the layer to a first curing condition, repeating the dispensing and the exposing to sequentially form a plurality of layers of the object and collectively exposing the plurality of layers to a second curing condition. The selections are such that the first building material formulation is hardened to a higher degree than the second building formulation. The outer regions form a hardened coating that at least partially encapsulates the inner regions. The second curing condition is other than the first curing condition and is selected to increase the degree that the inner region is hardened.

  • Publication number: 20210300075
Abstract: An example apparatus for determining dryness of an agent on print media includes an infrared prism, a source of infrared radiation to direct infrared radiation into the infrared prism, and a detector. The infrared prism includes a surface, the surface having an outer side to contact a portion of the agent on the print media, the infrared prism having a refractive index that is higher than a refractive index of the agent. The source of infrared radiation is to direct infrared radiation into the infrared prism and onto an inner side of the surface. The detector is to generate a signal based on infrared radiation reflected by the inner side of the surface to indicate the dryness of the portion of the agent.

  • Patent number: 10634612
Abstract: Herein is described a method for assessing primer composition coat weight on a print substrate. The method comprises providing a primed print substrate and spectroscopically analysing the primed print substrate using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy by attenuated total reflectance (ATR) to produce a FTIR spectrum. A primer peak in the FTIR spectrum characteristic of the primer composition, and a print substrate peak characteristic of the print substrate are then identified and compared to assess the primer coat weight on the print substrate of the primed print substrate.
