  • Patent number: 4485012
Abstract: A water treatment system is described comprising a first water line in communication with a source of water at one end and a water filter on the other. An alternating current magnetic means is imposed with the first water line so that water flowing therethrough will be subjected to the magnetic field thereof. A second water line extends from the water filter to a water outlet means. A direct current magnet means is imposed in the second water line so that water flowing therethrough will be subject to the magnetic field thereof. The magnet means are comprised of coils imposed in a housing, a first shaft extends through the coil and is adjustably secured to the housing. The inner end of the shaft terminates in a plate means which is normally positioned adjacent inlet and outlet openings in the housing. A second shaft means is adjustably secured to the housing and its inner end terminates in a plate means which is oppositely disposed from the first mentioned plate means.

  • Patent number: 4326490
Abstract: A fuel preheater for an internal combustion engine is described including a hollow housing which is mounted within an insulated cover. The hollow housing is provided with a fuel inlet at its upper end which is in communication with the engine fuel pump. A valve member is vertically movably mounted in the fuel inlet and is adapted to close the fuel inlet at times. A fuel atomizer is provided on the lower end of the valve member for atomizing the fuel supplied thereto. A float is mounted within the housing and is operatively connected to the valve member for closing the valve member upon a predetermined level of fuel accumulating in the lower end of the housing. Insulated electrical leads extend through the housing below the fuel atomizer for heating the atomized fuel. The housing is provided with a fuel discharge which is in communication with the carburetor of the engine. An air inlet is provided at one end of the housing to permit heated air to pass therethrough.

  • Patent number: 4249501
Abstract: A fuel system for internal combustion engines includes a fuel pump for supplying fuel to a carburetor through a fuel line and a heater for heating the fuel line at a position intermediate the fuel pump and carburetor for vaporizing and preheating the fuel prior to introduction into the carburetor. An adjustable air orifice is provided on the fuel line upstream of the heater. A bypass fuel line, which is connected to the fuel line upstream of the air orifice, provides direct communication to the carburetor when the engine is cold but includes a thermally controlled valve thereon which is operatively associated with the heater for closing the valve when the heater temperature is above a predetermined value and opening the valve when the heater temperature is below the predetermined temperature. The thermally controlled valve has an orifice therethrough which is adapted to provide limited fuel flow therethrough in both the closed and open positions for the valve.
